Friends who just moved to LA area

posted the Hollywood fire is out. I think it was the 3rd or 4th of the fires reported yesterday.
Relatives in Topanga area are remaining safe, said yesterday the fires moved away from their place.
Relatives s.e. of LA said it is smoky, eerie, constant sounds of helicoptors and wind. It'd be a challenge to fly anything in high winds. May everyone stay safe.

I have friends and relatives in LA that I'm worried about. Good to know the fires are not burning wild in Hollywood.

My cousin in Malibu just told me about it. it updates about every 15 minutes.

She and her husband are watching the sky of course, and also this app, to make the decision if they have to, to leave.

I'll pass that along to them.

My friends updated again and said the fire was withing 5 miles of their place, and evacuation order came within 4 blocks of them. They have a place to go and were ready. They aren't even unpacked from their move.

In this part of Ohio, we have to watch for floods. They are used to being watchful.

Meanwhile i'm getting warnings and deletions for saying spreading misinformation here isn't helping anyone. Sigh. After a scary day helping friends evacuate while they lose their homes... after a night spent on high alert ready to move at the drop of a hat out of here... I give up. Spread away, I guess. Wouldn't want to lose a 20 year old account over someone spreading panic.

She and her husband are in Malibu. They are packed and ready to go, but haven't had to leave yet.
No services and texts are not entirely reliable, but we've been lucky.

Their parents lost everything in the 1960s and they lost everything in the Woosey fire. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

This is such devastation. So many people have lost it all.
