(107,530 posts)A new law passed in 2021, restores the right to vote for a person convicted of a felony upon release from incarceration, regardless of if they are on parole or have a term of post-release supervision. If a convicted felon is not incarcerated, they are eligible to register to vote.

While he is a Florida resident now, Florida law defers to the state that tried him and their statutes, so again, no.

(122,381 posts)a felon can vote if the state he was convicted in allows it, and NY allows felons to vote if they aren't incarcerated.
However, I don't think he can own a firearm.
