So would you feel better if TikTok was owned by Elon Musk?

If Trump can convince the CCP to approve the export of ByteDance's IP, Musk would be first in line with The Convicted Felon's imprimatur. First in line for a TikTok that stays CCP friendly.

The national security argument is a scam. No other NATO member has banned TikTok outright. I wonder why? Maybe it's because they don't have a posse of tech-bros waiting to buy it.

I also returned some wifi enabled light switches because they forced you to download a shady chinese app to control them. Did some research and all your data ends up on servers hosted in china. No thanks.

I also dont consume social media, so dont really care if its the CCP, zuck, or elon. If i am forced to browse one of those sites i have a cloud sandbox machine i use.

Having the data up on servers in the U.S. was not enough for Congress (and the hungry Tech-Bros.)

I trust it more to be run by China, whom we know to be information warfare adversaries, than that fat-faced, pencil-dicked Apartheid-loving, nation-stealing, small-souled whiny crybaby!

Musk is too multi-national with serious business relations and dependencies on China. Not hard to imagine that Xi could leverage these into Musk still allowing the TikTok data harvesting (among other things) to continue post-sale.

Or at least the left leaning ones, have said they will not accept that solution. They would rather leave for Rednote or some other app than support Musk or Zuckerberg.

Where is this crazy notion that China is some kind of neutral party coming from? They are as committed to the destruction of the United States and its allies as is Russia.

Why haven't other NATO nations banned it? Somebody's got to go first. Years of inaction towards Russian and the refusal to treat Russia as an adversary led to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Is it so wrong to correct our foreign policy so that China can't do the same to Taiwan, the Philippines, or other Asian allies?

China is absolutely engaged in hostile digital action against us. Reports come out weekly on this stuff. You want to prevent us from taking action to stop this because you don't like the politics of some businessman. It's baffling.
