AI and the TechBros

Well I never thought about the "emergency" power but I've been thinking a lot about AI and the energy required.

I think we need to ponder on the AI and Crypto energy requirements. It seems the technologies and energy requirements are phenomenal but to what ends? We literally are having AI forced down our throats. Not to mention flawed people are training AI but that's another discussion.

AI to date is used more against us than for us. It decides if you get insurance or not. Jobs or not. I help target you for advertisers. It helps win elections (I have no doubt). The big data centers aggregate all of the pictures of you dinners. The kids off to school. Social Media data. Big data. It all takes a ton of energy.

I always thought software as a service was a bad idea. Sure, it solved a ton of development problems but content is constantly pushed out without you even knowing. More updates is more dollars. It's also a great way to pull every one along on a path that may not be of their choosing.

I'm afraid I am not explaining what I mean well...I'm tired. But there is something really big and insidious in this I am sure:

AI and Energy

On edit...my apologies...excerpt from the link (emphasis are mine):

US President Donald Trump said on January 25 that he would use emergency powers to ensure the operation of artificial intelligence (AI). He told reporters that the US would lead in this field, reports CNN.

"What they do need is tremendous energy, they need electricity at levels nobody’s ever seen before. And we’ll be able to supply that. We’ll be using emergency power to give that electric," he said.
