Egypt reaffirms rejection of Palestinian displacement as Trump pushes for relocating Gazans

CAIRO – 26 January 2025: Egypt has reiterated its categorical rejection of any infringement on the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, whether through settlement expansion, land annexation, or evacuating Palestinian lands from their owners.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement on Sunday that Egypt rejects “the displacement or encouragement of the transfer or uprooting of Palestinians from their land, whether temporarily or in the long term.”

Egypt warned that such actions “threaten stability and risk escalating the conflict across the region, undermining the prospects for peace and coexistence among its peoples.”

The ministry’s remarks come shortly after US President Donald Trump has unveiled a proposal to “clean out” Gaza by pushing Egypt and Jordan to take in Palestinian people from Gaza.

They've been kicked out of, and refused entry into every muslim country in the middle east. They apparently have a well established reputation according to an Iraqi-American co-worker of mine, of "not being good guests."

I don't know the history behind this. But there is something going on far beyond Israel.

Just as the Israeli's did. I'm guessing it's probably the same reason.

clear they would like nothing more than to clear Gaza of all Palestinians and develop it as ocean-front property.

Knowing that, I have a hard time chastising Egypt or Jordan for THEIR positions--even while I agree that they don't want Palestinians resettled in their territories either. .

If we drop our foreign aid to Egypt, their close ties with China will get even closer and we
will be the losers as our influence in the Middle East wanes.

problem by accepting 3 mllion 'undesirable', battered by war people who will need shelter, feeding, employment, healthcare and on and on.

Figure it out without ethnic cleansing and bombing the hell out of those wretched of the Earth people.

They've already accepted a pretty significant number of refugees and they at least pay lip service to Palestinians, but maybe that's limited to Palestinians having sovereignty and settled borders.

Millions of starving, homeless refugees who would need jobs, housing, medical care and more. Add to the problem that a fair number of those "refugees" are also Hamas fighters hiding within the population and it's zero surprise that no country wants to accept an influx of terrorists or support this ethnic cleansing proposal.
