A conversation on X with Evangelical.

She told me Christ did not speak on immigrants I replied

Matthew 25-31-40.

Her reply Christ teaches us to obey our leaders.

I had to ask her.

Was that obeying our leaders like J-6 2020.

These evangelicals are not nice they are evil people they have to use a book (Bible) to give them a guide to in what they feel is correct.

The rest of us we just understand right and wrong.

What a way to divide people and cause the blinded with giant limbs in their eyes to hate people who believe differently.

I’m no expert on the Bible, but seems Jesus didn’t follow the leader.

Meanwhile, the Bible mentions welcoming strangers and treating them as neighbors over 30 times.

Christ never did nor did he speak on the LGBTQ community.
Yet I point out that their God sure wasted a lot of babies.

They would have enthusiastically supported mass rape, torture and murder of the inquisition. Nothing Christian about them.

like John Gacy, Capone and others. But that is not what Christ said

Matthew 7:15-20
New King James Version
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Many of his metaphors were ways to passively resist and not draw a fierce backlash from the Romans. The Jews had already tried an uprising and failed (and would so do again to catastrophe).

Those metaphors do not apply to modern forms of government.

who like to call themselves "christian," have a new gawd. Thank you for taking the time but I'm going to assume that your arguments went straight out the ear the moment you presented them.

i'm an atheist and don't know the bible too well, but didn't someone in there also warn the faithful not to worship false gawds?

A lot of these Evangelicals do not even read the Bible.

And they do not supplement it with reading Dr Martin Luther King Jr and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
Christians who suffered for their faith.

They go to these mega-churches where the Pastor tells them what they are to think.

To see the gap between Trump and teachings of Jesus, all they would need to do is take one of Trump's speeches and compare it to the passages in red (Jesus' words) if they have a Red Letter Bible.

Trump's speeches are filled with hatred, envy, and resentment to name a few.

They don't change their viewpoints to reflect scripture. They cherry pick the scriptures that best fit their viewpoints.
