ICE arrests 956 in 1 day as Trump admin immigration crackdown ramps up

ICE arrests 956 in 1 day as Trump admin immigration crackdown ramps up (Axios)

President Trump's "border czar" Tom Homan and other top officials oversaw immigration enforcement efforts in Chicago on Sunday, as ICE officials announced 956 arrests in one day on Sunday.

Why it matters: The largest number of single-day arrests announced by Immigration and Customs Enforcement under Trump since he took office last Monday and declared a national emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border is a clear sign that his administration is stepping up efforts to crack down on undocumented immigrants.

• By comparison, an ICE report shows the average number of daily arrests of noncitizens with criminal convictions or pending charges in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 was 310.7.

And it looks like they're ramping up to that. Which means they can't just go after migrants in blue states, because if (as the saying goes) you go where the money is, it will be Florida and Texas.

This is pointless to compare 1 day with an average. Does ICE normally arrest 310 every day plus or minus 25 or do they build up to sweeps and arrest 1000 one day and then just a few in the following days to get to the 310 per day average.

undocumented workers from Poland do the work of deconstruction in Manhattan for his Trump Tower.

This is just for his mouth breathing base.

If Ice does that number every day, that only comes out to 1,395,760 over 4 years. Didn't Trump promise a lot more than that?

I read where ICE was directed to be camera-ready, so maybe the film-crews are slowing them down.

We can see a single candy bar to cost around $13 by the end of the year. Coffee? That's be $50-$100 bucks for 40oz in some places.
