Oh Dear Goddess, the stupidity, it burns!!! Converted catholic couchhumper

tailibilly has demanded that the roman catholic church punish The Right Reverend Mariann Budde for daring to ask for mercy for people from TRAITOR** as she prayed at the National Cathedral last week.

For those who do not know, she is the Episcopal Bishop of Washington. Seriously, one would think that even a convert would know that there are NO WOMEN PRIESTS in the rcc. And THIS FUCKING MORAN (sp deliberate) is ONE heartbeat from the Resolute Desk!

...as part of his conversion didn't do much good if he doesn't understand that Catholic =/= Episcopal and vice versa. The RCC has no disciplinary authority (or any other authority) over a Protestant denomination. You would think that a new convert would understand this.

and he did knock the US Conference of Catholic Bishops because they didn't approve of ICE entering houses of worship to arrest immigrants. He said:

Of course, if you have a person who is convicted of a violent crime, whether they’re an illegal immigrant or a non-illegal immigrant, [note: he can't say legal immigrant or refugee] you have to go and get that person to protect the public safety. That’s not unique to immigration. But let me just address this particular issue, Margaret. Because as a practicing Catholic, I was actually heartbroken by that statement. And I think that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops needs to actually look in the mirror a little bit and[ b]recognize that when they receive over $100 million to help resettle illegal immigrants, are they worried about humanitarian concerns? Or are they actually worried about their bottom line?
[note: They do not resettle ILLEGAL immigrants.]

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/jd-vance-clashes-catholic-bishops-gop-line-religion-evolves-rcna189404

I find this insidiously insulting. He's saying the Church just wants the money and are not really concerned about the refugees they help to resettle. The USRAP was the law and in his sanctimonious, slick, gas-lighting way Vance says THEY are going to enforce immigration law that they just shutdown. The USCCB works in compliance with the law. The sin they are guilty of here is they said:

"Turning places of care, healing, and solace into places of fear and uncertainty for those in need, while endangering the trust between pastors, providers, educators and the people they serve, will not make our communities safer."

The USCCB has the largest refugee resettlement agency in the world. Refugees are not illegal immigrants. Official entities give refugee status to people who have been forced to flee their home country because of war, violence or persecution. Refugees can become lawful permanent residents and eventually citizens in the U.S. During his first day in office, Trump suspended the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), a federal program that gives refugees a legal pathway into the U.S.

"We're going to enforce immigration law. We're going to protect the American people," Vance told Brennan, adding if the USCCB is "worried about the humanitarian cost of immigration enforcement let them talk about the children who have been sex trafficked because of the wide-open border of [President] Joe Biden."

. . . .

Brennan asked during her interview with Vance: "You think the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' are actively hiding criminals from law enforcement?"

The vice president responded: "I think the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has, frankly, not been a good partner in common sense immigration enforcement that the American people voted for, and I hope, again, as a devout Catholic, that they'll do better."

. . . .

The USCCB added that those resettled through USRAP are"vetted and approved for the program by the federal government while outside of the United States" and that in its agreement with the government it "receives funds to do this work; however, these funds are not sufficient to cover the entire cost of these programs."

Even after being called out, he lied to justify lying.

It's beyond stupidity. He can't help himself. He's another psychopath just like his felon running mate.

He never had a chance to grow up with all those sermons and lectures about Christians not being Catholics like I did.
I guess he thinks they all report to the Pope.
But then I don't really think he's much of a Catholic anyway. He's more like a Catholic in name only.
