Physically, What is Keeping Trump Up?

Even though I utterly loathe Donald Trump, I would never wish ill will on him or anybody else, because I believe in bad karma. However, given his fast food and sodium-high diet, lack of exercise (sorry, golfers, who may argue otherwise), clinical obesity, high blood pressure, clear signs of dementia, lack of sleep, I'm surprised this 78-year-old hasn't had a heart attack or a stroke yet--although we have never been told the reason for his visit to Walter Reed Medical Center during his first term, although he seems to have been dragging one foot ever since. Here's my theory: the man obviously has no conscience or sense of guilt, and therefore, perhaps, may not suffer from the added stress that can increase the types of health risks that I''ve mentioned. Instead, he seems to have the kind of personality that gives OTHERS heart attacks and strokes.

Or a draugr. In Norse mythology these are a corporeal undead creatures - revenants or reanimated corpses. Any mean, nasty, or greedy person can become a draugr. "The draugr's motivation was primarily envy and greed. Greed causes it to attack any would-be grave robbers viciously, but the draugr also expresses an innate envy of the living stemming from a longing for the things of life which it once had. They also exhibit an immense and nearly insatiable appetite." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draugr. It fits, I think.

Merde-a-Lardo. It’s probably something he purchased from Satan and never finished paying off. If we can find this thing and destroy it, we can then proceed to purge the many evils inflicted upon the land.

Currently, experts on such things speculate that like the Horcruxes in Harry Potter, there may be several such objects in existence, making the task more difficult.

Said experts also suggest that the most easily identifiable object currently embodying the evil 😈 may be Roger Stone.

Rush Limbaugh spoke extensively about his own health.

It's complete BS but I've heard this before. He believed in some sort of "conservation of energy" so he rarely exercised other than golf...

He claimed that his blood numbers were perfect...

I can only assume he packed away an unhealthy diet...

And in the end it was the cigars that "got him".

Fucker should have been decent enough to film a PSA on his death bed urging others not to smoke.

The psychopath has no guilt, shame or embarrassment, so they don't even get stressed.
The only time they get stressed is when they don't get their way.

Trump is the walking exhibit of poor health, bad diet, lack of anger management skills, abdication of exercise, inability to think critically and poor education. He might have keeled over long ago but for some mysterious force that has kept him alive.

An aside about golf, however. Trump does not play golf. He does something on a golf course but it isn't golf. He never practices. He plays out of turn. He has no regard for his playing partners. He cheats. He doesn't finish each hole, (he "rakes in" his putts which is illegal and often the ball doesn't even go in the hole!). He's overbearing according to various reports; golfers need to be circumspect because it's as much a mental game as a physical sport. He doesn't walk the course and golf was originally designed for the walk. He drives a souped-up golf cart that goes too fast and he drives on the greens (a major no-no!).

My friends and I play by the rules. It's what makes the game so challenging and fun! Our scores, whether good or bad, have significance and we post them honestly to calculate our respective handicaps. It's a game of honor and when we see deliberate cheating, it subtracts from the experience.

We walk the course and even though we're all over 60, some of us even carry our golf bags. Consider a 15 lbs. bag of gear that you're carrying up and down hills while walking 4+ miles on an 18-hole course. Then you have to make careful precision shots time and again. The mental challenges are severe and to be able to control your emotions and physical state is very difficult. Still, it's a wonderful workout and the experience in the outdoors is exhilarating.

The camaraderie is another wonderful aspect of the game. On the weekend, you might be playing with your friends at your favorite course, Or you might be paired up with three strangers on some public course. During the round, you'll share a remarkably intimate experience with your playing partners gaining insight into their personalities from their behavior on the course. No one can hide their true personalities out there!

But to your point, I wonder every day if this is the day for Trump. It would be somewhat poetic if he met his fate on a golf course.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! I hadn't meant to imply that golf, as it was meant to be played, is not a challenging physical and mental activity. it most certainly is, but not, as you had said, the way Trump plays it!

So seems that he keeps up with health screenings and to counter his diet and reported HBP, he has been on medications to keep his cholesterol and BP under control for many years. As we saw in his Walter Reed visit when he got Covid in 2020, his doctors will do everything medically possible to prop him up as they have for Dick Cheney- much more care than an average person would receive.

You are so right, wishtar, about the "celebrity treatment" that both Trump and Giuliani had gotten for Covid. Both had been given expensive medical "cocktails" of effective drugs that the average American patient could not have afforded.

I could see where Trump complained to a physician that he was having incontinence, thus a referral for a colonoscopy would be ordered.

He’s undergone some event, clearly, at some point that caused his physicians to put him on blood thinners in my opinion. This photo was taken in 2024, and the bruising on his right hand positively screams, blood thinners. I would guess an MI or TIA, possibly with or following a bout or bouts with covid. Could have been any time. We wouldn’t know.

I want him to suffer a stroke that obliterates his physical appearance and dignity, but leaves his cognition intact. Because his disability and misfortune would be gift to the world, I have no moral qualms about wishing for it. I’m good with it. I’ve personally seen way too much savagery visited upon the innocent and blameless to believe in any gods or karma, because it would require a cruel and twisted god who is not almighty in the slightest. I find none of it impressive or worthy of admiration, let alone worship..

What’s keeping him up? Genetics, and a quality of medical care not available to you or me at any price. It’s not impossible or even implausible, but we will indeed be lucky if his health disables him in the next 4 years.

He's probably dipping into his sons' cocaine stash, as well. And, I HIGHLY doubt that he never had a stroke or some other cardiovascular episode. Let's not forget that weekend trip to Walter Reed during his first term, that he tried to pass off as "getting a head-start on his annual physical."
