The Museum of Jewish Heritage, NYC- 80th Annivesry of Auschwitz Birkenau's Liberation

From AM NY: snip
"As one of the last generations of Holocaust survivors, these individuals were children during the war — and their stories and testimonies stand for current generations as powerful reminders of resilience, hope, and the necessity to ensure that such atrocities are never forgotten even with antisemitism on the rise.

The Jan. 27 event began with a simulcast from Poland of the official ceremony commemorating the liberation of Auschwitz, an experience made possible due to the Museum’s partnership with the Auschwitz Birkenau Memorial Foundation."

The gathering included testimonies, a performance by a children’s choir, and speeches from survivors and community leaders. As part of the ceremony, guests will feast together and share memories.

“There’s no place else in the US that could do this. It underscores how these events are such a testimony to resilience and renewal, Kliger said. “If there’s two words, we always talked about being about remembrance and reputation, but now 30 years after we’ve opened, it’s resilience and renewal.”

I've passed this building on it's western side from the long esplanade that goes south from Brookfield Place/World Financial Center down to Battery City Park.

And, yeah, they have a box car outside that carried Jews, gays, disabled, Roma and others to the Concentration/Death camps.

It's mind boogling at times the hatred leading to systematic atrocities, and murders.

If I remember correctly Hitler got "inspiration" from the ?Eugenics movement here in the USA. Probably lynchings, and possibly giving small pox infected blankets to the Plains Native American tribes.

Texas School District Rebukes Holocaust Statement From Curriculum Director

Eisenhower wanted the Holocaust and death camps thoroughly documented because he knew there would be these evil scum who would try to deny it.

Yet Trump has his 6MWE and Camp Auschwitz followers. That's anti-denial in his own camp. (6 Million Wasn't Enough)

15. Ike was right on the money!

The 6 million refers to the Shoah - and the Shoah is only a part of the Holocaust.

If Texas wants an alternative narrative on that period perhaps they should teach that the total toll in deaths was closer to 12 million when Poles; Russians: Romany; Slavs; and other "undesirables" are included in the slaughter list.

Perhaps Texas and similar states could teach these facts as the alternative Holocaust information and remind future citizens how the type of fascism currently used against women in Texas can grow into the evil genocide that has been repeated frequently since WW2.

KKK/MAGA boasting:

“We killed six million Jews the last time,” he answered. “Eleven million is nothing.”

I was 7, so too young.

Then we moved into a 2/3rds Jewish neighborhood where I learned a lot more.
