(10,849 posts)I'm not sure about the willing part. IMHO he was one of the worst of the revolutionaries, willing to sacrifice others for his cause, but not willing to make sacrifices himself. A lot like Stephen Miller, I think. But then I'm more of a Dantonist.

(51,755 posts)Interestingly, Robespierre's first job after graduating from law school was as a judge. He resigned shortly after being sworn in because he was opposed to issuing death sentences. He got over that in time to chop off half the heads in France.
But yeah, I thoroughly expect Trump to be like Judge Griffin in Judge Dredd: "We must expand execution to include lesser crimes!"
