He always appears angry. But he is clearly executing the Project 2025 playbook for dictators, so he is getting something out of it. All Trump truly cared about was winning so his prosecutions could be ended and he could once again use the power of the presidency to add many millions to his wealth.

So far Russell Vought has accomplished much of what he wrote about the OMB in Project 2025, even though he hasn’t yet gained Senate approval, which is guaranteed with a complicit Republican Senate.

They have also achieved the goal of dismantling diversity, equity, and inclusion outlined in their manifesto. I need to re-read several parts of Project 2025 to see what’s next. I remember plans to promote white Christian marriages through the tax code by giving special benefits to couples who had more children and a stay-at-home mother.
