I had recently run across a story that ICE officials had wanted to intrerrogate, alone, on school grounds and during school hours, an eleven-year-old Mexican-American student who had recently appeared in an anti-Trump social media video made by his father. I don't recall the state, school, or school district, but ICE later rescinded its request.
If true true, this is very concerning for two reasons. For one, this was an obvious profiling intimidation tactic by Trump's immigration Gestapo. Secondly, it was.a violation of First Amendment freedom of speech rights. I'd never thought that I would be living in a fascist police state, which is exactly what Trump is trying to turn this country in to.

(777 posts)I tried a few searches, but I was unable to find anything, not even a description of the video in question. The idea that the child appeared in the video, and that it was produced by his dad, is info I hadn't heard before. Before this all I heard was that it was a video shared by the young boy on social media. I'd really like to know what triggered the Secret Service call. All that was reported was that it was critical of TSF.

(32,048 posts)Why didn't they go after the dad instead?
Here's the deal....They know that taking legal action against an 11 year old for a video would go nowhere legally. So, why not go after the dad? Well, there would probably legal issues that the father could raise and the case would likely be dismissed. They also would have to release the dad's name. And the video would be leaked etc etc. Everything would all come out........
So, this is a case of: "Let's make an example of". They knew that this was a no-starter. They knew the school would say NO. They knew they wouldn't question the kid. They knew the public would find out that they wanted to question the kid.
I'm not a "false flag" type person, but this is sorta of that spectrum.
Did a kid share a certain video? Likely. Do other kids share similar videos? Likely.
Is this all trumped up to scare people? You bet!!

(777 posts)... especially the last part. The fact that they just left their card and walked away when the school said 'no way' suggests that they didn't have much interest in actually questioning the kid, especially on school grounds.
This whole thing is just a show. They want us all to be shaking in our boots.
F**k 'em.
