Everything is blowing up in Elon Musk's face

All it took was losing $100 billion in three months to make Elon Musk change his tune on government work.

ICYMI: The last 24 hours have brought a parade of humiliation for the world’s richest edgelord, starting with his $20 million losing bet on the pro-Trump candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Hours after the loss in Wisconsin, Tesla reported its biggest sales drop ever, falling 13% in the first quarter, while its No. 1 rival grew revenue by 60% in the same time period. Then came a Politico report quoting MAGA insiders who say that Musk has overstayed his welcome in Washington.

The White House on Wednesday called the Politico report “garbage,” and Musk dismissed it as “fake news” in social media post. But the administration confirmed that Musk is expected to wrap up his stint as Trump’s hatchet man in late May or June, when his 130 days as a “special government employee” comes to an end. That was enough to reverse a 6% decline in Tesla shares — a sign investors are optimistic that Musk will ditch the cheese-hat shenanigans and focus on his company’s rapidly shrinking market share (and maybe, possibly, deliver on his long-delayed promises to revolutionize autonomous driving.)

In short: Voters, customers, investors and the MAGA elite say the Elon Musk show has lost the plot.

It sure as hell doesn't look like human skin to me. Maybe he should lay off all the resurfacing, botox, and fillers. It is just creepy now.

Lindell was never all that rich. Maybe $25 million, but with personally backed loans of $10-12 million.
That's pocket change to Musk, even with the decline in TSLA value.

leveraged he is. All we really have to go on is what he reports to sources. Secondly, only two outlets -- Forbes and Bloomberg -- keep some track of who is "THE wealthiest". Even Trump fooled them as his properties weren't actually worth what he said they were and his CFO went to prison for dishonesty.

Reporting sources don't know who has not reported their earnings. Even Musk has said that Putin is probably richer than he is. But nobody knows how wealthy Putin is. For that matter, there may be oligarchs in Russia who are more wealthy than Musk. They just don't report it.

Continue to contend that nobody knows who the "richest man in the world" is. And wish the media would cease labeling Musk as "the richest person," as though that is some decisive declaration of who is the smartest or wisest human in whom we should invest our trust.

Wealth has nothing to do with honesty or decency. It shouldn't be the measure of our worth.

But, his holdings in TSLA is publicly available information. We also know how overvalued the stock is, so I can't envision enough leverage to overcome said overstated value.
We agree it's paper value, because he's the last person who can sell TSLA without causing a panic sell-off and talking the value. So, he's sitting on a mountain of wealth that generates minimal income.
We do know, however, what he put into PayPal & how much he had when he cashed out. And that was more money than Lindell ever dreamed of having

people will start buying his cars again? Americans are notorious for our short memories, but Jeebus I hope Tesla sales continue to plummet. The guy has done irreparable damage to working people, people dependent on SS, children relying on food programs--he deserves to see some real consequences of his cruelty.

Tesla's models are falling behind while other brands are pushing innovation, and the Tesla 'brand' has been irreparably damaged -- not just by Musk's mindless political mayhem, but by the failure of the projects (Cybertruck and self-driving cars, where he made some really stupid decisions) which he has so strongly associated himself with. Even if the board can somehow dump Musk, they may not be able to continue for many more years without a merger or buyout.

At the very least, expect them to change their name if Muck can be jettisoned.

Almost as many in China as America, followed by Austrailia then Germany and UK. Their memories are likely better. Their anger likely permanent (I hope).

It’s a great car. The Ioniq that’s due in May is expected to have a 400-mile range. In the before days, we thought we’d buy a Tesla this spring. Not a chance now. Our friends are turning their Teslas in. The fall of the Tesla brand will be a business school case study.

People who won't buy a Tesla today aren't going to suddenly say, "Oh, Musk is no longer is running DOGE, I think i should buy a Tesla now."

Tesla is now a symbol for Musk. and Musk is now a symbol for the Neo-fascists and arrogant billionaires who are destroying our nation and robbing the middle and working classes blind. It will take years and totally new management before Tesla has any chance of somehow crawling out from under Trump and Musk.

My husband was mildly interested in a Tesla - until Musk got into bed with the donald. Even if they “break up”, my husband is no longer interested, and I never was to begin with.

The Donald’s gonna cost you BIGTIME, Elon. Maybe everything.

The brand is destroyed. The big boys are sucking up all the market share. And for the rest of his ventures, without government contracts there's no revenue. Here's hoping he eventually ends up rummaging through in dumpsters and sleeping in the gutter. No horror that befalls that piece of shit would ever satisfy me. He deserves vastly worse.
