Big law firms who caved to trump are finding out that their pro bono service include defending rogue cops

The firms who caved to trump are finding out that they have agreed to defend rogue cops

The litigators at these big firms do not normally do criminal defense work and defending rogue cops will not help the image of these firms

This is going to be fun to watch.

I wonder how many junior partners in these firms are now shopping their resumes around. Everything Trump touches dies. Everything.

But firms which capitulated are having trouble recruiting summer associates and new attorneys because of law student activism identifying which firms to avoid, and why.

Once you give into them they'll just keep demanding more from you.

That's why you don't give in.

The agreements announced were to provide standard pro bono services, in line with what the law firms had already been providing. Not to provide free legal services which Trump could direct.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

They never should have capitulated - but any firm that was dumb enough to do that, without getting a written agreement detailing just what those pro bono services were isn't anyone I would trust with my personal legal needs.

We just gonna glaze over the Trump EO released tonight? Sec 2 says the Fed government will provide pro-bono legal defense for cops ‘unjustly prosecuted for acts on the job’ & Sec 4 says they will use ‘excess military & NSA assets to assist against crime’? Sounds kinda Nazi-esque?
