The Boards of those companies said put it to a vote. We are not going to get rid of DEI unless the stockholders agree. The boards did not want to and recommended the issues be voted down.

Optics is part of what they do and it’s hard to be seen as “winning” on this issue if they keep losing? It’s better to not have the vote at all than lose at the Big Blue.
