I became an activist and then political. Today I am despondent.

I was in college and not very politically active. It was my first political demonstration that week…Today I am so sad for our country…

Some people see the horror of it all. Too many just shrug it off.

They couldn't be together to perform this. For me, that makes it even more amazing!

"And, the Meek shall inherit..." Wrathful Retribution. Pope Deplorable I rules by Fiat, with a knife at our throats. Same wine... different bottle. Trading bullets for words is what happens when we forget our Humanity in favor of our tribal instincts. Go Primitive!!!!

In our collective grief, no mention of those who died in Viet Nam on that day. We were horrified by the violence visited on our children at their school on that one day, while this was a condition of living for their children every day. Though that wasn't the story on the news, Kent State brought the tragedy of war home to us for a little while, and hopefully opened a few more eyes to the truth of what was happening. Every life lost is a tragedy. Until that's true, we will continue on killing each other. JUST SAY NO.

Fifty-five years ago I was hiding with my classmates in the auditorium of the Kent State University High School, on campus, within walking distance of Taylor Hall, waiting to find out what was going to happen to us. I can still remember everything we did that day. It marked us all.

There were all sorts of rumors flying around, including reports of snipers near our school (that turned out to be false). We had closed circuit TV broadcasting from the KSU radio/TV station. The phone lines were down, so no one could call their parents.

I looked for my 1970 diary couldn't find it withvall the others. However I know one is elsewhere bc of the color of it, and it wasn't there. Hopefully it (maybe '69, not '70) along the other is somewhere.

I'm curious bc in Wiki it mentioned a lot of HS, and college kids leaving school that day in protest; and we were one (in general) liberal leaning Music & Art HS!

I have a memory of - we were on a hill on one side- I remember going down that hill's long set of stairs which I never did ( not in my direction home) going to something.
Kent State instant protest? Anti-Viet Nam march? 🤔

Besides, it is a mess.

And just listing the search terms is plenty good enough. Many prefer other engines like DuckDuckGo.
