https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5293058-democrats-concerns-over-fetterman-behavior/Democratic senators are having private conversations about how to help Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) in the wake of an explosive report that the first-term Pennsylvania senator is behaving erratically and in a way that may pose a danger to himself or others, according to sources familiar with those discussions.
Two Democratic senators told The Hill they are talking with colleagues about how to best help Fetterman, who they fear is struggling to cope with the emotional rigors of serving in Congress, a stressful job even for the fittest individuals, who often find themselves the targets of political attacks.
Every time I see him, Im worried about him, said a Democratic senator who requested anonymity.
The senator cited a recent report in New York Magazine that Fettermans former chief of staff alerted the senators doctor at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that he was on a bad trajectory and might not be with us for much longer unless something changes.
I know were all in touch with each other having conversations about how to intervene. I havent heard anybody say theyre not worried about it, the senator said of the discussions among senators about how to help Fetterman.

Seriously? They work 6 months out of the year and 90% of the republicans over there are as dumb as rocks.
That said, it is obvious that Fetterman is struggling and needs serious psychological help and support.

(3 posts)--not surprised by this, and was rather miffed at the "ohh, don't vote against someone who has suffered a stroke; that's discrimination" or whatever crap message was spread around (like manure) back then to defend voting for him.
Folks really don't consider potential consequences since they are so wrapped up in the "protect our side" garbage.
Well, Oz was defeated, but at what cost?
Really, no one saw this coming? Just because he's a Democrat we ignore everything we know or have experienced with stroke victims?
Reap the whirlwind on this one--it's well-deserved.

(3,412 posts)But with the right therapy, most stroke patients can pretty much return to their normal routine, and in the immediate aftermath, Fetterman's recovery was really good. Not being able to find the right word, or hesitant speech patterns are a part of a left brain stroke. I really don't think the message was so much it's "discrimination" to vote against Fetterman, but genuine concern over what "Dr." Oz was capable of. He wasn't even a resident of Pennsylvania, but with the total arrogance that goes with today's Republican, I guess that should have been overlooked.
Depression and personality changes are not unknown with stroke patients. I think it's entirely possible this is what Fetterman is dealing with now. If we refused to vote for someone because of what MIGHT happen to them health-wise in the future, we might as well just turn off the lights now.
Oh, and just because...a lot of folks "lurk" here for a while before they start posting. Don't know if you did or not, but you'll probably find most folks here don't consider the desire to "protect our side" from a lunatic, fascist dictator as "garbage".

(1,088 posts)Fetterman didnt. It took more from him than he knew. They were right to vote for him over Oz, but now he needs to resign as much to work on himself as to allow someone else to take his place.
