Republicans Blast Donald Trump for Accepting Qatari Jet
A growing number of prominent Republicans are publicly criticizing President Donald Trump following reports that he accepted a $400 million luxury jet from the government of Qatar. The alleged gift has sparked a wave of concern within conservative circles, raising alarms about ethics, foreign influence, and the integrity of Trump’s administration.
The controversy began gaining traction over the weekend, when conservative firebrand Laura Loomer posted a series of blistering messages on X (formerly Twitter), warning that the Qatari jet could severely damage Trump’s presidency. “This is really going to be such a stain on the admin if this is true,” she wrote. “And I say that as someone who would take a bullet for Trump. I’m so disappointed.” Her remarks were quickly amplified by Fox News host Mark Levin, who added simply: “Ditto.”
On Monday, Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro voiced his own concerns on his podcast, pointing out the apparent double standard among conservatives. “I think if we switched the names to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden, we’d all be freaking out on the right,” Shapiro said.
“The administration’s policy is too important for this sort of activity.” Although Shapiro affirmed that he wants Trump to succeed, he made clear that the situation contradicts the president’s own promises: “President Trump promised to drain the swamp. This is not, in fact, draining the swamp.”
