He could come home, but can't afford it because the SA currency is worth very little anywhere else. All his savings are about enough to buy a studio condo in the US. (He lives in a huge house in South Africa.)

So these immigrants might be in for a shock when they transfer their savings to the US. Heck, they might have to be like most immigrants and get a job!
