4. The differing levels of public and media scrutiny between these two incidents may stem from various factors,
Thu May 15, 2025, 09:54 AM
May 2025

The incident involving President Joe Biden failing to recognize actor George Clooney at a 2024 fundraiser garnered significant media attention, raising concerns about his cognitive health. This moment, detailed in the book Original Sin by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, contributed to discussions about Biden's fitness for office and ultimately influenced his decision to withdraw from the presidential race in July 2024 .
In contrast, statements made by former President Donald Trump regarding constitutional obligations have also sparked debate. In a May 2025 interview, Trump expressed uncertainty about his duty to uphold the Constitution concerning due process rights for immigrants, stating, "I don't know" when asked about this responsibility . Legal experts criticized this remark, emphasizing that acknowledging and upholding the Constitution is a fundamental duty of the presidency .

The differing levels of public and media scrutiny between these two incidents may stem from various factors, including the immediate visibility of Biden's lapse during a high-profile event and the broader implications of Trump's statements on constitutional adherence. Both situations underscore the importance of evaluating the actions and statements of public officials in the context of their responsibilities and the potential impact on governance and public trust.

Trump would not be president. His decline has been noticeable for 60 years. Joe Biden was effective and then some. Trump has always been an ineffective self serving buffoon. Everyone is pointing at Biden and President Tang is destroying the world. The press is still not doing its job. We need to stop talking the bait and focus on what is important.

it was shocking because President Biden mixed up words, seemed distant and not at ease. Had President Biden kept to his original plan and be a transitional 1 term President, we might not be in the awful place we are today. It really is our collective responsibility to ensure that candidates are fit and ready.

As a consequence, we are now stuck with trump - again.

Did not choose wisely. A certain group of Americans always vote for republicans, when that group stops voting their hate maybe we can save this country. Someone said we vote for republicans even though they don’t do much for us but they understand our culture. Propaganda works otherwise truckers, farmers, and most of rural America would see how much harm the Republican Party is causing.

Jobs, infrastructure, equality, prosperity and sanity. What was he selling lies, racism, MAGA, deportation and anarchy. The people of this country need to wake up or we will not survive. The perfect candidate does not exist. We don’t have universal healthcare, paid tuition for college and so many other things a civilized country needs because billionaires have convinced people that’s communism. People have to want better for themselves and their country or we will continue to decline. Democrats are not responsible.

Or your lying eyes . We can’t help you. If a child bumps his head on the table and you blame the table, bad table the child learns nothing but blame shifting he also learns not to take responsibility for his actions. If you keep blaming democrats for Americas bad decisions , the country learns nothing and takes no responsibility for the orange pustule.

Racism is in Americas DNA. Why didn’t 64% percent of white men vote for the better candidate. You know the answer. When white America joins the minorities who get it maybe we can pull our country out of the ditch. George Wallace was a democratic moderate when he ran for governor but he wasn’t getting traction. So then he started with the hating on folks ,he said they were clapping and cheering they almost tore the building down. He said I will never be out n word again. We have not come very far from the !950’s, some want to go back. That’s why a sick sob won the election.

When all is said and done - you still have to allow for a staggering level of 'sh*t for brains' in the American voting public.

Were YOU taken in by the the childish and malignant grifter - not only the first time, but for a well advertised second ? No ? Even despite 'influencers' and questionable media performance ? And that in a nutshell sums up ...

An incredibly mean spirited American public voted for this ... In full knowledge. And in large numbers!

Both the people who did vote and those who were lazy and did not.

That is the reason why we are in this mess. Not Joe Biden. Not Kamala Harris.

We (in the royal sense, not as DUers) are the ones to blame.

Emails and getting paid to give a speech gave us Trump 1.

And I have no doubt now that -- regardless of Biden's performance -- our ignorant fellow voters would have voted the felon back in office. Kamala and Walz kicked the felon's and his lackey's ass in their debates and yet it didn't matter. Many didn't like prices increasing and wrongly blamed that on Biden, and just enough idiots on the left got fooled by social media propaganda again into thinking that voting Biden/Kamala out would somehow help Palestinians -- who will now be forever refugees with Gaza no longer existing thanks to Trump and Netanyahu's collaboration.

And before anyone tries it, don't "tut tut" me about calling the voters as a whole stupid -- they are. I said what I said. I don't have to sugarcoat it and I will not sugarcoat it.

“I don’t think he has dementia,” said a second Cabinet secretary, according to the authors. “But the thing is, he’s an old man. The president can give you four to six good hours a day. When he got tired, sloppy isn’t the right word, but his guard was down.”

“At one rare meeting during that time,” the authors write that the third secretary “was shocked by how the president was acting. He seemed ‘disoriented’ and ‘out of it,’ his mouth agape.”
