(59,639 posts)don't NEED to use AI at all. That account has a lot of video rants.
It's really a tacky-looking video. AI slop.
At the moment the UK's Labour government, which should support liberal causes, is trying to change laws, after heavy lobbying by AI bros, to allow them to use the UK's intellectual property for free to train AI, with the owners of that property being allowed to opt out when/if they discover their work was used, which puts the burden on the creatives. The AI companies have already said that won't be enough of a giveaway for them - they do not intend to reveal what's in their training data, they would consider it too much of a nuisance to allow creators to opt out, and they do not think they should be required to compensate those whose work was stolen and not removed from training data.
And while Labour is pandering to the AI companies, the Tories are defending creatives and intellectual property - which is likely to cost Labour votes in the future, from those creatives and their fans and supporters.
Liberals using generative AI are betraying liberal ideals of supporting workers against giant corporations, and individuals against corporate thieves.
Those liberals can try to plead ignorance of the theft of the world's intellectual property to train AI, but after years of news about this, it isn't a very believable excuse.
Using it for convenience isn't an adequate excuse, either.
Anti-Trump AI slop isn't going to change anyone's mind, or their vote. Creating it is a waste of time. Spreading it online is a waste of other people's time, an insult to their intelligence - and a slap at all the creatives whose work was stolen to train genAI models.
