Trump, US Army birthday bash plans include 25 Abrams tanks

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Twin celebrations of U.S. President Donald Trump's birthday and the Army's 250th anniversary will include as many as 25 tanks rolling through Washington in a celebration that will cost $25 million to $45 million, U.S. officials told Reuters on Wednesday.

U.S. military service branches take pride in their history and anniversary celebrations, called birthdays, across the United States and on bases around the world.

Two U.S. officials told Reuters, on condition of anonymity, the eventual cost could be as high as $45 million. One of them said the cost included several million dollars more than it would have without a parade.

The officials' latest estimates exclude costs the city of Washington would have to bear, like trash cleanup or road repairs for damage from the heavy tanks.

To grift off of it. Selling seating to CEOs and such. He won’t let an event like this go by without a grift.

F#ck the Army for playing along.

After his charades with sworn enemies of the west, this is cuckold level cowardice.

Unless....this will be their opportunity to protect our Constitution that they swore an oath to.

One can dream

11. 25 tanks is definitely overkill. It's not celebration. It's a spectacle designed for adoration of the Donald.

It's the big day for the US Army and they actually DESERVE the celebration.

Abrams have rubber tank track pads... and the Abrams weighs 70 tons...

An 18 wheeler with trailer can weigh 30-40 tons.

Here's the difference.

Those 18 wheels have a contact patch maybe 8" square.

The Abrams has 158 track pads bearing the weight of the tank, maybe 60-70 touching the ground at one time.

The pressure per square inch is nominal...

In fact... in Germany, Abrams run all over the roads...

The Secret Service wouldn't be able to stop them.
