Trump has two motivations
Greed and personal grievance.
He doesn't care about Republicans losing, or what he can or can't accomplished. He knows he is in office for three more years and can continue his graft and revenge. That people still think what happens to the country matters to him shows how little the discussion about Trump is based on reality.
