I think that deep down, he genuinely fears that for him, this may well be his last Christmas.

their own sense of grandiosity, or their fears, through the way they talk...or in this case, write. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if Trump is genuinely afraid (consciously or not) that his time is coming to an end.
