MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - One person was arrested in Mount Horeb after using a fraudulent $100 bill at a Kwik Trip.

The Mount Horeb Police Department said the call came in on Tuesday, when staff reported a customer using a fake bill.

The bill looked realistic, officials said, with realistic size and appearance including the 3D blue security ribbon and holograms. The tell, however, was that the bill had an image of Donald Trump on it instead of Benjamin Franklin.

Officials said that the fake bill was mixed amongst regular bills.

After reviewing body camera footage and confirming the Kwik Trip requested to press charges, the suspect was arrested for forgery and booked into the Dane County Jail.

Yes he is a righty but intentionally counterfeiting I have a hard time believing.
He lost his wife a few years back and his health is not great.
He is a Vietnam vet and was wounded 5 times.

Vietnam Vets can be anywhere from 68 to 85 years old, and pretty wore out by now. If he got caught in the Trump cult, he could easily have to gotten ahold of one of the more realistic fake $100s, and didn't recognize it as a fake when he gathered cash to o go shopping.

and this mentioned several other things including his friend saying he had post it notes around the house to help him remember what he was supposed to be doing.
"Family friend Robyn Booth said Smith was dealing with a staph infection and was preparing for a fourth knee surgery."

he was arrested at his house, cops wouldn't let him take his meds before he left, and the oven was left on.

"Booth said the novelty bill was accidentally mixed in with Smith’s real money.

“It was mixed in with his other bills, and he doesn't even know how it got into his wallet, which makes sense, because he's not thinking straight,” Booth said.

he was in jail for three days and doesn't sound like he's doing too good

so now i'm wondering where that "novelty" bill came from.
was trump team selling that crap, making them look as real as possible while still putting trump's pic on it? or was someone just turning them out without a trump connection?

if it really was meant to be a novelty bill why would they need to bother with a 3D blue security ribbon & holograms? if trump team was hawking these things i think THEY should be charged with forgery!

If I remember right he was injured in 1969 or 1970 when he was 19 years old time I believe.
They got ambushed and every time he moved for an hour they put another bullet in him.
