"Trump has not officially endorsed a potential successor"

Trump's decision to back away from running again comes at a consequential time for the MAGA movement. There is no clear successor for Trump once he exits politics. Some people, like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance, have emerged as potential successors, although Trump has not officially endorsed either person.

10. There's 3 years left and they're entertaining a successor ? What about promised healthcare reform?

What about taking care of the country instead of rattling sabers at countries he doesn’t like? Is he just gonna rename all our monuments and government buildings and skate to the finish line?

11. He'll endorse the candidate who meets the following criteria:

1. They have a realistic chance of winning, making Trump look like a kingmaker

2. The candidate’s campaign writes him the biggest check.

Reminder: the 2028 Republican field will likely be crowded with close to two dozen candidates, including many not mentioned in the poll, such as:

Noem
Rubio (despite his denials)
DeSantis
And many red state governors like Youngkin and Kemp, as well as various billionaires.

…and don’t forget about Liz Cheney (although I think the odds favor her running for the open Wyoming senate seat)

Regardless of who he endorses, they won’t be the nominee- it will be somebody like Kemp or Youngkin, who have threaded the needle by maintaining plausible deniability that they are neither MAGA cultists nor Never-Trumpers.

Too early to predict anything, but I think Vance's ticket to ride will get punched by Thiel.

Trump really enjoyed that sweet, sweet $$$$$$$$$$$$$ from Musk last year. Thiel could match his spending, including any direct kick-back to Trump personally. He'll just write the check to "The Donald J Trump Foundation for the Advancement of Blah Blah Blah," and by the time anyone gets around to investigating it, Rapin' Grampy will be off to his dirt nap.

Especially Trump, he of little insight and foresight.

Trump probably thinks the world and everything in it didn't exist before he was born, and will disappear when he dies.
(Not that dying is a possibility, in his mind.)

Successor? There will be infighting between those who don't see that leading the R party is drinking from a poisoned chalice.

He keeps floating the idea of running for a third term, or simply declaring himself president for life. There is no way in hell he's going to leave the White House except in a coffin.

In a way, this means that IF he does kick off before then, there will be absolute MAGA chaos because there will be no clearly identified successor. The movement will tear itself apart, because none of them have anything approaching a national base.

Therefore, he will withhold an endorsement until after the Republican convention.
