Lincoln County in south-east Arkansas is the epitome of rural, broke America. While it is not the poorest place, it is in the most impoverished fifth of the country.
Many people who live here struggle to afford even the most basic necessities, including dental or medical care
Families, farmers and businesses alike have all been burned by years of price rises, although worse may yet be to come.
Donald Trump won 74pc of the vote here in 2024 but Lincoln County is one of many places where supporters are starting to resent the fact that, nearly a year into his presidency, he is failing to make the economy work for them.
Even Terry, who has a Trump poster tied to the chicken-wire fence outside his bungalow and has voted for the president in the last three elections, can’t help but feel disappointed.

Vote for trash, get garbage in return. Elections have far greater consequences than what side gets "owned" for social media shits and giggles. Excuse me while I go find the world's smallest violin. 
That's a paraphrase from a quote in a NYT article about (delusional) working-class Trump voters. It was featured prominently on Rachel Maddow's show as well.
The full quote is "I thought he was going to do good things. He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting!"...Trump's policies weren't attacking the brown people enough, and were in fact harming nice white people like her.

That was the bon mot from an interview with a MAGA chud in the NYT. Chud lives are apparently miserable enough that if Trump isn't beating up on minorities, poor people, LGBTQ, etc. on a regular basis, they go into a tailspin because Trump isn't giving them their constant media dopamine hit to which they have become accustomed.

would vote for King-Kon in a heartbeat if he were to run again. The Supreme Fascists will probably rule 6-3 that the Big Orange Pig is eligible for a 3rd term, so Terry will have yet another chance to vote against his own self-interests. Smart man, that Terry.
