I Posted This Back When Obama Was President - It Has Gained Little Traction

It's all about the narrative, who controls the narrative is winning.

Here was my example many years ago;

Fox News says Obama beats his wife, CNN says it needs more information, MSNBC says no he doesn't. All 3 networks are doing what Republicans want them to do, talk about Obama beating his wife. MSNBC can have on 100 guests and 100 witnesses and a million experts all claiming that Obama does not beat his wife, that's exactly what Republicans want.

There are many subtle examples of controlling the narrative that I see today;

Oh dear, what country will Krasnov invade next is the narrative that Magats want everyone to talk about. The next country that Krasnov is going to use the military to perform law enforcement functions on, is the United States.

Krasnov wants to bypass search warrants, wants to bypass arrest warrants, wants to bypass jury trials and that's the narrative that we should be talking about, instead of worrying about Cuba or Columbia, better start worrying about the United States.

All of those former generals and admirals who went on TV and stated that the military will not obey illegal orders were either lying or woefully ignorant about what Krasnov has already done to the military, firing the JAG officers should have given them a clue.

5. We're 45 years behind the 8-ball in messaging, so yes, I'd say it's too late.

The republicans have more successfully branded our party than we have. Tax & spend, weak on defense, nanny state, baby killers. Go do some "man on the street" interviews & ask "Who's better at the economy, dems or repubs?" & I'd bet a significant majority would answer republicans. Why? Cuz they've been telling people they are since Reagan. We let hate radio blanket rural America with anti-dem propaganda without any challenge from our side, & now we have farmers who complain about Trump but say they'd never vote for a dem even as they admit the dems passed a good ag bill. WTF?

Now the landscape is so different with so much more mis/disinformation out there, I don't know how you successfully challenge it, but remaining silent isn't the way. We need a marketing department, stat!

mean doing things that many politicians wouldn't be comfortable with. And what he does would not work it a woman did it.

But we need to do whatever we can to win.

Opening up my Inbox today …. Headlines from just about every news source - Trump this Trump that, much breathless speculation on his next move, breathless analysis of is this legal, moral, etc. etc. You would think this story was the only event happening in the world today. His friggin name has been in every headline for over 10 years now and I’m so damn sick of it.

Why not cheating at golf, instead of wife beating, especially since both Obama & Trump play golf.

There was a flood of articles all at once claiming that Russia was winning the war, reports of Russia capturing a major hub, Pokrovsk, which is a major hub for Russian supplies and reinforcements, it was a lie.

All of those articles were misinformation designed to force public opinion to force Zelenskyy to sign the Putin/Krasnov surrender agreement.

All of those articles about a peace plan were smoke screens. How can Ukraine and Russia have a peace plan if the plan is for only Ukraine to make concessions?

Fuck Russia, fuck Putin, Ukraine will never surrender. hey Zelenskyy, blow up another refinery, every time you do the price of gasoline goes down in central Pa. The fucking price of oil dropped after Krasnov invaded Venezuela.

Go to freespeechtv.org for real information about what's going on.

about a narrative. It's about producing results. Propaganda wars of bullshit serve only to turn off the moderate voters who decide elections. The narrative line only serves to stoke division between the solidified voters who defend their "turf". Centrists, independent and swing voters (the ones who decide election outcomes) want real policy that produces real results. The soap opera game is old and tired, and we need to stop making it the primary campaign tool. The right will not give it up, ever, and that is how we beat them: by behaving like the adults in the room.

13. No, the swing voters are the ones that vote based on the dominant narrative

If they cared about issues, policy, results they would not be swing voters.

than in his cutesy 'messaging'. Never been to too impressed with 'entertainment politics'.

But, that's just me. Y'all go on and dedicate yourselves to spin class ... Maybe it's not impossible to make progress on both fronts. (although, again, my impression is that those that are consumed with the 'messaging' optics - are largely focused there, and to the exclusion ... )

I think swing votes are really no more 'impressionable' or easily swayed - than 'core groups' (especially on the right, but truthfully, probably going both ways) - who are completely captured and consumed by 'message'.

'Swing voters' are strongly characterized (perhaps their most dominant trait) by a tendency to disbelieve (and to a certain extent 'disdain') appeals and information coming from either camp ... "All the same .." "All crooks .. "

as better. When in reality they are just easily fooled casual voters that don't read much.

Things like saying both sides are the same and they are all crooks are some of the signs of people who just repeat things and don't read much.
