Greenland - honestly do you think he will do it?

I'm curious what folks think. These assholes are so completely crazy and unpredictable that it's so difficult to predict.
As osr of us know if he does, that's the ball game.

Will he go after Greenland and use military force?

I never imagined we'd go this far. I don't think we go much further -- he is trying to get Noem et al. out of the news.

If as reported the Joint Chiefs have told him it would be illegal, hard for them to turn around and do it. Denmark/Greenland will throw him a bone of some sort, more US military or deals on the various natural resources and the issue will go away. Plus it helps that we're getting closer to the elections and some Republicans will be trying to save their seat and Trump will be distracted by trying to get turn out and/or falling asleep. And then after the election, we will almost certainly be able to be more of a check with control of the House and in a longer shot the Senate.

Especially if Starmer deploys UK troops to Greenland, as he is reported to be considering, and other EU nations and Canada follow.

That will shut TACO right the fuck up.

But those EU troops need to be in place soon, like by the end of the month, IMO.

Has he planned to threaten their President and legislative body with some sort of harm, if he declares himself the President of Greenland.

Or does he even have a plan if they say, "No, we won't follow your orders". Imagine how that will go. It's insane.

He certainly doesn't appear to have thought through his plan for oil in Venezuela. But that didn't stop him from enacting the first part.

One thing I will predict -- 100% he can make a totally rash decision. Whether he will, I don't know.

Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) proudly announced on Monday that he is introducing legislation to allow President Donald Trump to seize control of Greenland — as the president's increasingly obsessive calls for the island to be purchased or annexed away from Denmark alarms both international actors and key figures in both parties.
"Huge News! Today, I am proud to introduce the Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act, a bill that allows the President to find the means necessary to bring Greenland into the Union," wrote Fine on X. "Let me be clear, our adversaries are trying to establish a foothold in the Arctic, and we can’t let that happen. By acquiring Greenland, we would prevent our adversaries from controlling the Arctic Region and secure our northern flank from Russia and China."

If the UK, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and new NATO members Sweden and Finland (or any combination of the above) send troops, or announce imminent plans to do so, telling the USA openly and in no uncertain terms, “we are much closer geographically, so we’ll protect Greenland from hostile invasion. You nice Americans save your strength for dangers closer to home. We’ve got this. You are not needed here,” the US military will have a hard time justifying any order to attack Greenland.

Maybe Trump and Hegseth personally don’t see an obstacle, but Rubio and the military will get it instantly. Like with any other rape, the aggressor must be made to understand and accept that “no means no.” He might still want to, but if their email (and their radar) is working he will have a few dozen reasons to declare that “he” got Greenland protected and “convinced” other NATO countries to pay for it.

It's a distraction from his horrible domestic and trade policies which have our economy on edge right now. It's also a distraction from Epstein. It's a distraction from Ukraine. It's also a distraction from ICE.

The Venezuela mission went amazingly well from a tactical standpoint (It was stupid and probably illegal). Remember when Trump gets a victory, no matter how small, he wants to play it back. He thinks we could just take Greenland because his brain doesn't process complexity. He doesn't get cause and effect. But he enjoys talking about a Greenland invasion.
