Tom Morello Calls Out Trump Administration for Using Alleged Nazi Mass Murder Slogan
"If there are any MAGA left after THIS, you have made an irrevocable choice," the rocker wrote.
Coined when an SS officer was killed and the Nazis murdered every male resident of the village in response, Morello claimed. If there are any MAGA left after THIS, you have made an irrevocable choice.
Tom Morello is once again giving the Donald Trump administration heat, this time for using an alleged Nazi slogan at a recent news conference.
Sharing an Instagram photo on Monday (Jan. 12) of U.S. Department of Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem addressing press a few days ago, the Rage Against the Machine musician (who also performs as The Nightwatchman) accused her of standing behind a podium that displayed a verbatim quote of a Nazi mass murder slogan on the front. The exact phrase printed on the podium was, One of ours, all of yours.
The rocker also included a picture of himself at a show with a F Trump poster taped to the back of his guitar and a screenshot of a quote from Ernest Hemingways Spanish Civil War novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls: There are many who do not know they are fascists but will find it out when the time comes.
When reached by Billboard for comment, the Department of Homeland Security responded: Calling everything you dislike Nazi propaganda is tiresome. DHS will continue to use all tools to communicate with the American people and keep them informed on our historic effort to Make America Safe Again.

(17,530 posts)I suppose "blood and soil" and "Jews will not replace us" aren't Nazi slogans either.

(17,530 posts)quotation to the Lidice massacre of 1942, which was committed by the German occupation authorities in the 'Reich Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia' in response to the assassination of the deputy governor of the province, Reinhard Heydrich, by British-backed Czech commandos in Prague (Operation Anthropoid), on 27 May 1942."
"Heydrich survived the initial attack, but later succumbed to his wounds on 4 June. The (unfounded) suspicion that Heydrich's assassins had been given shelter by the villagers of Lidice led to that village's siege and subsequent sack and destruction on 9 June 1942. All male villagers aged 15 and up were executed by German forces, whereas female villagers and underage boys were fed into the concentration camps, mainly the women's concentration camp at Ravensbrück."
"So this is where the 'One of ours, all of yours' supposedly comes from: 'You kill one of ours, we kill all of yours." And that's where the history ends because that phrase was never used by the German government."

(24,761 posts)Lidice was chosen as a target for reprisals in the wake of the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, because its residents were suspected of harbouring local resistance partisans, and were falsely associated with aiding team members of Operation Anthropoid.[5][6] On 9 June 1942, 172 boys and men between age 14 to 84 were shot.[5] Altogether, about 340 people from Lidice were murdered in the German reprisal (192 men, 60 women and 88 children). The village was set on fire and the remains of the buildings destroyed with explosives. After the war ended, only 153 women and 17 children returned.[7] They were rehoused in a new village of Lidice that was built overlooking the original site, using money raised by the Lidice Shall Live campaign, initiated by Sir Barnett Stross and based in north Staffordshire in the United Kingdom.[8][9] The new village was built in 19471949.[4]
Evidence of the massacre, including Nazi propaganda films, was shown at the Nuremberg Trials as a demonstration of the Nazi regime's violence. This included testimony from two of the surviving children, who were forcibly re-housed as part of the adoption process of Germanization.[10]
