They say 3000 ICE thugs are in Minnesota.
They are making about $100,000 a year.
This simple calculation equals 300 million for one year!!!
This is not including the new sign-on of $50,000!
We don't know how many new sign-ons.
Huge waste of money!

(12,608 posts)Drank a little, but our pay, unlike ICE, did not allow is to live up to that analogy. We sold blood to blood banks near months end to help with bills.
Maybe we can change that to spending like trump or any GQP. Drunk or not. And never their money.

(80,043 posts)During WWII, killed at the Battle of Guadalcanal.
His ship sank in 10 minutes after a huge kamikaze and bomber group hit his ship.
He still lies on the bottom of the Pacific ocean.
Grandma never got a body for a proper burial.
He was 20 years old and weighed 120 lbs but he fought to the end.
He never got to spend his pay.
My family talks about Uncle Jim to this day.
Because we want to keep him alive.
And we don't want him forgotten.
I think of him more often now because we are now facing
the same world wide evil that he fought and died for.
So I hear you trail dog and I thank you for your service.
But you see, I am trying my hardest to communicate to people about the danger all around us.
And what is at stake. And I have to talk to them in common venacular, and use metaphors that
hit them on a simple emotional level.
And yes my Uncle was first generation Irish American, and 100% certain he would have imbibed
on leave, so drunken sailor is not such a harsh comment in my mind.

(12,608 posts)I was not hitting back at your post. It is funny and believe me, I knew lots of drunken Sailors. I am so proud of my service and the branch I served in. And trump is putting them in situations that destroy the image and reputation of my Brothers and sisters that are sailors.
But whats sick is how little our military are paid and now what these traitorous thugs are doing pretending to be serving this country, while bankrupting us all.
Your Uncle was/is still a hero. I am proud to be part of his family as a sailor.
But your whole (with a W Donny) point is what is being spent to attack and destroy of country is one we must shout.
I am still raging at Trumps photo op term one, in a navy leather jacket with an officers hat (scrambled eggs on the brim) starting around the Carrier with his heel spurs. I was a Destroyer sailor, Ops Specialist that joined during the Vietnam era with a draft number of 324, no voting rights Sorry for your loss and losing the ability and time to be with your hero of an Uncle.
Keep up the good fight, I will have your 6 any day.
Still broke, but still willing to fight to the death to end this attack on the country. 🤛🏼🤜🏼⚓️

(80,043 posts)Yes Trump is putting the military in great danger on so many levels that I cannot list them all.
I was horrified when Hegseth blabbed about a highly classified USAF mission before it even took place.
He essentially put aircrews in a potential ambush.
Also when a military operation is unnecessarily cruel, brutal, and showing off, it puts troops in harm's way.
(Like making a major production out of hitting a gd fishing boat. )
The enemy will strike back twice as hard. We see this in how Trump uses the military for ego driven political stunts.
And when USAF generals get up on public TV and brag and brag about how smart, expensive, high powered
a recent operation was, then yes he is putting troops in harm's way.
My career USAF father and USN uncle were not heroes. They were just doing what they could to thank the US
for taking their parents in from Ireland. Where the people were oppressed for 1000 years by the British.
And showing how much they loved freedom and opportunity for the children in the family. They understood there is no
free lunch. And that the USA was a fabulous country. They never took it for granted.
Where were in during Viet Nam era? My dad was career USAF, flew combat in WWII, Korea, Viet Nam.
I know I talk about them a lot but I feel them looking down and shaking their damn heads and cussing.
Maybe we can get some energy and motivation from their sacrifices.
I know the picture of the Orange F-Wad sitting in the officer's mess with leather jacket and scrambled eggs on
his cap no less made me see red. A man who is not fit to shine your shoes. And should be in a supermax prison for life.
Yes we are getting into live free or die territory aren't we?

(80,043 posts)The cost of ICE, the military operations, the non stop luxury spending on the part of his people is in the billions and billons.
Plus Trump has personally made at least $1B.
This is what we know about, I think he has stolen much more.
His goal is to be the world's first trillionaire.

He is finding out that the old adage is true: "The One Thing That Money Can't Buy.....Is Your Health"

But not a penny for ACA assistance.
The ICE budget is multiple billions. (With a B Donald, no W like your Milk) Tax dollars to kill us. Those of us that pay taxes.

They say a few hundred thousand, which is probably only the fuel costs......LOL When in Reality, I bet each trip is more likely ten million for each of his Junkets..............
