Per Jolly Good Ginger on Instagram that there is hesitation to call out the national guard as it is believed that they would side with ICE over citizens and that police are calling out sick to avoid having to help Minnesota citizens against ICE

(2,675 posts)Trump would just federalize the Guard and he is the Commander in Chief.

(11,763 posts)That you do a lot more digging on him before disparaging him like that. He is a dyed in the wool Democrat and veteran that has been on the streets fighting ICE from the very beginning. They literally camped out in front of Union station in DC from the moment Mango Mussolini deployed troops there.
He is in his car for this video because he is currently in Minneapolis helping people impacted by ICE raids.
He is the leader of a massive group of veterans that go wherever they are needed to help cities being impacted by ICE.

(11,763 posts)Isn't necessarily correct. How often do we attack the news media for spewing bullshit or kissing mango Mussolini's butt?
I'm not saying what he is saying is accurate or not I'm simply sharing information from what I consider a decent source on the ground because we are not getting an honest picture of the situation from traditional news media.
I found out ICE was literally going door to door demanding proof of citizenship from people like him and I had not heard any formal reporting that was actually happening from traditional media until Walz said it in his recent speech

Now, he uses his platform to teach other white people to deconstruct their own racism.
His platform is also dedicated to spilling tea all while brewing actual cups of tea from his own brand. He begins each video with his signature catchphrase: "Get your motherfucking tea ready."
Ellis' videos tend to steer clear of bold-faced celebrities and influencers, instead focusing on the quotidian dramas faced by everyday TikTokers, such as infidelity and tattoo mishaps.
He might be entertaining and sympathetic, but I'd like a more serious source with good journalistic or government credentials.

(11,763 posts)How often do we catch news media, even MSNow, fudging the details or ignoring facts that are otherwise obvious to anyone?
He is as credible a source on the ground as any in the media and his agenda is to actually help people, not play sycophant to a news organization's billionaire owner's personal agenda.

(60,213 posts)with credibility, and not everyone working for a major news organization is a "sycophant to a news organization's billionaire owner's personal agenda."
Even if he's a good guy who's concerned about what's going on - as he appears to be - that does not give him the credentials and background and contacts he should have to be trusted as a reliable source for what you relayed in the OP.

(23,185 posts)IMFO, Gov. Walz correctly stated that the Minnesota National Guard was composed of teachers, lawyers, plumbers -- the people of Minnesota. Thus, the MNG would stand to protect the People of Minnesota from the evil inflicted by the fascist trump and his personal goon squad, ICE.
Ocelot II
(129,297 posts)which is that Trump would immediately federalize it and take it over. That's a scarier scenario than the possibility that some NG members would side with ICE - something that can't be assumed. NG members are ordinary citizens who are part of MN communities; many join the NG for the military benefits, not out of ideology. It's hard for me to imagine NG soldiers who are policing a protest would obey an order to shoot a bunch of old gray-haired grannies like the folks who significantly populate anti-ICE demonstrations.

(11,763 posts)But history tells a different story. There are many union members, people of color, college students and military veterans, that have had a very different experience with having military forces mobilized against them.
Good example is the Bonus Army. Look that up.
