Has anyone asked/brought up why Jonathan Ross felt the need to draw his gun?

My apology if this has been addressed already but why did he draw his gun? Other than intending to fire away.

I think what he called her after shooting her explains everything.

The car moving "forward and to the right" is also not relevant. He thought that "pulling the gun would convince her to stay put?" I don't see any evidence of that. "Not pleased with the end result?" What is the evidence for that?

Being "in front of the car" has nothing to do with it. He didn't act as though he were "programmed" either. Cool, calm, deliberate is how I read him.

He managed to get out of the way of the car even while filming with a phone in his left hand, and drawing his gun and firing it four times with his right hand. Just imagine how much easier it would have been for him to get out of the way if he wasn't doing either of those things. Or, just imagine how easy it would have been to get out of the way if he'd followed his training and not stood in front of the car in the first place.

There were a million ways this could have played out without someone getting shot. But Ross switched his phone from his left hand to his right hand, freeing up his right hand, before moving in front of the car. He was priming the situation -- he was ready to draw his gun, and he put himself in front of the vehicle, in a position where he wouldn't actually get hurt, but where he could shoot and then claim that he feared for his life.

At least, that's how I saw it from watching all the videos.

Shooting her was his plan, just itching for her to move. Switching his phone hand for gun hand, made his intentions clear.

Becca was telling him to go get lunch while recording him. I think he did that to put his hand on his holstered gun to intimidate Becca first. I also wonder if his fucking bitch comment was directed at both of them.

He knew she was not a threat.

But you could see him draw his weapon even before she tried to drive away.
