Why haven't Europeans learned anything from WW2?

It's just incredible to me that some of the head of these governments who were victims of Hitler and the German terror machine are too scared to stand up to this miscreant. Why has Carney agreed to participate in the "Board of Peace"? Why is Macron hemming and hawing. What happened to moral courage and strength in numbers? It is absolutely a travesty that they are not heeding the lessons of the 30's and 40's.

wants to ensure that there's some sanity at the table. His voice might get drowned out, but he can plot with others to try to control some aspects of what ensues, or sound the alarm right away if things go off the rails.

Rock and a hard place.

He has, at times, sung the praises of Zelenskyy and Mamdani after meeting with them. He can be influenced by whoever is in his ear last because he's not a strong independent thinker.

by Zelenskyy and Mamdani? What, maybe first the first 10 minutes. But there's no proof that it lasts longer than that. He has no moral compass whatsoever.

Unless something has changed in the last couple of hours, Carney hasn’t committed to pay the 1 billion for a seat on Trump’s Board of Peace.

And Macron has firmly declined Trump’s invitation, and is spearheading the move to activate the EU’s “anti-coercion trade bazooka”.

I’m not sure where you got the notion that Europeans weren’t standing up to Trump,

I also heard the PM of Germany say that they would cut off their support for US military bases on US soil.

Well, the Fascist Meloni is exhibiting “diplomatic patience”, but otherwise, most of leaders are in the process of getting their political, economic and military ducks in a row for an effective coordinated response to whatever comes next.
