Hilary Clinton in 2016 - Americans arent just electing a president in November, were choosing our next commander in chief, the person we count on to decide questions of war and peace, life and death, Clinton said. And like many across our country and around the world, I believe the person the Republicans have nominated for president cannot do the job.
The stakes in global statecraft are infinitely higher and complex than the world of luxury hotels. We all know the tools Donald Trump brings to the table: bragging, mocking, composing nasty tweets. Im willing to bet hes writing a few right now, the former secretary of state said. But those tools wont do the trick. Rather than solving global crises, he would create new ones.
Yes we were.

And they will do anything, make any bargain, to be able to be assured "Don't worry about responsibility - just keep playing with your toys and Daddy will take care of all those problems for you..."
They fight waking up.
They don't want to share resources, to live in a complex real world with real problems along with other real people who have their real problems to deal with, too.

"This is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and out for unchecked power."

(13,037 posts)And lies and Trump saying just kidding a lot of people dont believe or want to believe what is really happening. Its like millions are in a state of denial.
Especially true for those who voted for Trump but are not crazy zealots for him, people who voted because they wanted immigration fixed or maybe hated abortion, they are trying vainly to come up with reasons why this isnt really bad. So they listen to rightwing news or podcasts or people online explaining why its ok and even though they have a thought deep inside saying its not right they fight that thought like a person staying in a marriage when they know its bad.

(89,188 posts)And what really stinks is how, by now, too many of our fellow citizens take it all for granted. And remain in denial about 1) how bad things are and 2) how many people are adversely affected.
