Get ready for saturation coverage: Venezuelan migrant being held in Loyola student murder

Right wing boards are lighting up with this story.

Early Thursday morning a masked man approached a group of Loyola students in Chicago and fired on them, hitting a young woman and Loyola freshman and killing her.

Police have arrested somebody in this random attack. Apparently, according to a number of right wing boards, the suspect is a Venezuelan migrant who was arrested in 2023 and then released, and has been absent from court since that time, with live warrants.

I'm not linking to right wing sources, but I'm acknowledging that the sources reporting on this now are mostly right wing, like Substance News, CWB Chicago, and Fox and Friends. This is pretty much the ideal suspect for this vicious crime from a Stephen Miller perspective, and that it took place in Chicago is extra gravy for the MAGA immigration narratives.

It's going to rule the week, and might be the GOP rallying cry for the midterms if true.

Maybe he still had the gun, maybe ballistics with the casing.

Then there's the limp he's said to have. Hard to just say, "Hey, we need a migrant with an arrest warrant and a limp to cover for the white guy we know did it" and come up with one so handily. And, you know, would have been a lot cleaner just to raid the apt. building he was in and gun him down.
