And just as they don’t need training to be murderers…sorry law enforcement officers…they won’t need any training to molest…I mean frisk…innocent travelers.

whatsoever in either direction, though the news was full of horror stories.

The Atlanta hub is often a problem, but I do wonder whether it ever really was 6 hours.

I know Denver airport had a blackout a couple of days ago and there were bad storms earlier this week. Both of those caused delays, but neither had anything to do with TSA.

I think this is a story that is being puffed up and blamed on the partial shutdown when the partial shutdown is having little actual effect.

As far as connecting flights, it only affects the time you get on your first flight, and you're supposed to be at the airport hours before your flight time in case of such waits. Luckily there are sites where we can see if our particular airport is a disaster spot.

And a bunch of old Confederates that can't handle it that have a federal government on their side.

My dad's family is from Georgia. I have no illusions about how some Georgians believe and vote; one of my dad's aunt's husband was one of the 'wizards who are not grand' back in the day. I met him once or twice as a child, and he was kind, teasing me as adults sometimes do. The only reason I know is because a family member had a picture of them with him in his white silk outfit and insignia. It was just as weird and creepy as you could imagine.

So don't despair completely. Not yet, anyway. Georgia--for now--has two really great Senators.

You've missed the flight three hours already. You can rebook outside the security area.

My experience traveling to and from Europe earlier this month was the same as yours, despite the dire stories in the news.

I am wondering why we keep hearing horror stories, when the partial shutdown has actually had little effect.

Is this the media trying to make the Democrats look bad?

many independent ones. And if you go to them, most of them agree. And, anecdotally, during my four air trips since the partial shutdown began, all from major hubs and while horror stories were rife in the news, I've experienced no delays other than a half hour when one of the luggage belts broke.

She and her friends arrived at 9:30 for a 2:30 flight. After hours of spelling each other for drinks and bathroom breaks, they finally made it through security at 4:15. They’re now booked on an 11:30 flight and hopefully will make it home tonight.

Does being 6 hours delayed mean the planes took off without their ticketed passengers? Or does it mean the flights are all delayed because the passengers haven't boarded yet?
