Regarding the war in Iran, we are being gaslit in a one-two punch from trump and the corporate media daily. But gaslighting only works if you allow it. And I will not allow it. I will only acknowledge what this administration does, not what it says, which is always nonsense and/or propaganda.
This morning we are facing a fresh batch of BS. Talks are on, peace is around the corner, Iran is going to be the fifty first state, things could go either way, we'll see, there will be some news today, trump's 50/50 on a deal or bombs, all in the space of one morning.
And forget the weeks of this insanity leading up to today.
I will ignore it all no matter how credulously the corporate media reports it, and even doubly so if it comes from the administration.
I choose not to partake of the show, which actually is not even entertaining or distracting. It long ago reached the boring stage.

(19,772 posts)In Jan 2026, before this war of Dotard and Netanyahu choice started, the average US regular gasoline price was $2.81/gal and the average US diesel price was $3.52/gal.
Specious comparisons will be made, such as to peak prices under Biden (hello Dotardly-mismanaged-pandemic sequelae) and so forth. Don't put up with that crap. The prices right before this unnecessary and avoidable war are clearly documented. When someone tries to gaslight you, call them on it and rub the truth in their faces.

(90,879 posts)I knew, and was regularly frustrated by, a builder who almost literally lived by the comment oh, thats gonna take two weeks.
Translation: I could probably do it in an afternoon, but it works so much better for me if I string it out over many days before I actually pronounce it finished. Little trick that lets me charge you WAY more before I decide whether its finished or not.
That little trick works on anybody who isnt in the building trade in one way or other. You tend to want to trust the builder and not push him, so you save yourself a deliberately substandard job that runs up an extra few expensive (and totally UNNECESSARY) days toward completion.

(251 posts)What would this regime do without their nefarious tools. Nor am I piqued by any of their latest promises, treaties or breakthroughs thrown my way.
Once youve deciphered their repeated game of-lets play them again for their gullibility. The corporate media has our back because our interests are theirs dont you know. The jerk arounds are getting old and beyond silly.
Look, I see a glimmer of hope. The most justest of wars ever envisioned by the mostest, astutest general-like president is and will prevail. Look how well we promised that well/wall (same thing) in mekikko. Me president of da noneducamated peoples always win for me.
