lol, he's big time mad and doesn't want the Kennedy Center anymore

I won't link but here's his rant from his propaganda social media site

Therefore, based on the fact that the Radical Left Democrats care more about opposing your favorite President, ME, than saving a dying Performing Arts Center, almost all of which lose large amounts of money throughout the Country, we are going to be working with Congress to transfer this failing Institution back to them so they can make a determination as to what to do with it. Judge Cooper was given a presentation by leading Building and Construction Experts as to how structurally dangerous the Building is, with rotting beams, parking areas that are subject to collapse, and various other Life and Safety problems, in addition to the fact that it also needs a MAJOR renovation, from an aesthetic standpoint, but he was not “swayed,” and said he wants the Building to, incredibly, remain open and, therefore, dangerous. Judge Cooper should be ashamed of himself! I cannot be involved with a situation where danger to the Public is allowed to flourish in plain and open sight. Unless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else, bring this Institution back, physically, financially, and artistically, I have no interest in continuing what could only be a hopeless journey into “NEVER NEVER LAND.” There has never been a President of the United States who has been treated so unfairly by the Courts as I but, that’s OK, I will continue to do, what is considered to be, a great job for the wonderful people of our Country. I have instructed the Department of Commerce to make all necessary arrangements with Congress to allow a full and complete transfer of this Institution, giving them the responsibility for its Operation, Maintenance, and Management. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Basically he is a destroyer, not a builder. There is a reason why this phrase caught on - "Everything he touches dies".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennedy_Center
1990–2008

In fiscal years 1991 and 1992, Congress recommended that $27.7 million be allocated for capital improvement projects at the center, including $12 million for structural repairs to the garage and $15.7 million for structural and mechanical repairs, as well as projects for improving handicapped access.[31] In 1994, Congress gave full responsibility to the Kennedy Center for capital improvement projects and facility management.[32] From 1995 to 2005, over $200 million of federal funds were allocated to the Kennedy Center for long-term capital projects, repairs, and to bring the center into compliance with modern fire safety and accessibility codes.[32] Improvements included renovation of the Concert Hall, Opera House, plaza-level public spaces, and a new fire alarm system.[33] The renovations projects were completed 13 to 50 percent over budget, due to modifications of plans during the renovations resulting in overtime and other penalties.[34] Renovations to the Eisenhower Theater were completed in 2008.[35]

2013–2024

The Kennedy Center lights up in rainbow colors every year in the weeks preceding the annual Kennedy Center Honors.
Beginning in 2013, the center commenced an 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) expansion project on four acres (1.6 ha) in the center's South Plaza. The expansion added classroom, rehearsal, and performance space and includes three pavilions (the Welcome Pavilion, the Skylight Pavilion, and the River Pavilion), a reflecting pool, a tree grove, a sloping lawn to be used for outdoor performances, and a pedestrian bridge over Rock Creek Parkway.[36][37] The architect is Steven Holl,[37] with assistance from architectural firm BNIM.[38] Edmund Hollander Landscape Architects is the landscape architect.[39]

Plans for the expansion project began after David M. Rubenstein donated $50 million to the center.[38] A groundbreaking ceremony took place in December 2014. Originally estimated at $100 million, the project cost grew to $175 million, and design changes and a major D.C. sewer project significantly delayed construction. The expansion, entitled the REACH, opened on September 7, 2019, with an opening arts festival.[37][40][41] The fundraising goal for the REACH expansion grew to $250 million[42] as the project progressed, and the target was achieved just two days before opening. Since its opening, the REACH has received several design awards, such as The Architect's Newspaper's Best of the Year Award in the Cultural category and an Honor Award in the 2020 AIA New York Design Awards.[43][44]

26. MaddowBlog-Federal judge rules Trump's name must be removed from Kennedy Center
Fri May 29, 2026, 06:42 PM
Friday

“Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,” U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper said in his ruling.

Remember when Trump’s handpicked allies claimed they’d added his name to the Kennedy Center?

A judge just set them straight.

“Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it. ... The Kennedy Center must be named for, and is meant to honor, President Kennedy alone.”

Steve Benen (@stevebenen.com) 2026-05-29T19:36:05.727Z

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/federal-judge-permanently-blocks-effort-to-add-trumps-name-to-kennedy-center

U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper said in a 94-page ruling, “The Kennedy Center’s organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so. Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it.”

The president’s allies apparently tried to convince the judge the rebranding was little more than adding an informal nickname, but Cooper, an Obama appointee, didn’t buy it. From the ruling:

The rechristening is not, as Defendants suggest, like calling the “Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection” the “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau,” which is merely a clerical rearrangement. Nor is it akin to calling the Federal National Mortgage Association “Fannie Mae,” which, as even the Defendants admit, is simply a “play on the pronunciation of its acronym.” The administration’s efforts to alter the names of other institutions — calling the Department of Defense the “Department of War,” for example — are beside the point. Most fundamentally, none of these examples implicate a presidential memorial that was legislatively intended to honor a specific public figure. The “Trump Kennedy Center” label adds an entirely new name to the Center’s formal title and relegates President Kennedy’s name to second place. If that is not a renaming, what is?

.....Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio, an ex officio member of the center’s board who was excluded from voting on the name change, quickly filed suit, arguing not only that the process was improper, but that the entire gambit was illegal for the simplest of reasons: A name change required congressional approval, and that had not happened.

Cooper agreed, writing, “The Kennedy Center must be named for, and is meant to honor, President Kennedy alone.”

As part of Friday’s order, which almost certainly will be appealed, ordered the administration to remove all physical signage and all other official documentation within 14 days. He also declared that Beatty must have voting rights as an ex officio member of the board.

If that weren’t enough, Cooper also blocked Trump’s appointees from closing the Kennedy Center’s doors on July 5 for planned restoration efforts in which the president has taken a keen interest.

Today’s ruling rightly affirms that this administration’s efforts to rename and close the Center have no basis in law,” Beatty said in a statement. “The Kennedy Center is an institution that belongs to the American people, not to Donald Trump. He has desecrated this sacred memorial for his own vanity. I am proud to have fought for the rule of law and to protect this sacred institution.”

The president was far less pleased.

This ruling made me smile

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Shockingly, a Judge appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, Christopher Cooper, ruled that The Kennedy Center, which was going to close in early July for largescale renovations and construction due to years of neglect, decay, and poor maintenance, and which was to be transformed by the Trump Administration into the Finest Facility of its kind, anywhere in the World, is not allowed to close for these renovations, which would not be possible to properly do without such a closure. Additionally, Judge Cooper ruled that the 36 Member Board of Trustees, which unanimously voted to add the name “TRUMP” onto the former Kennedy Center, making it The Trump Kennedy Center, did not have the right to do such an addition, and the name, “TRUMP,” must be removed.

The Kennedy Center has lost, over the years, prior to our getting involved a short while ago, Hundreds of Millions of Dollars — In some cases, including ridiculous construction jobs that were done, over 100 Million Dollars a year. I took great pride in taking over a losing Institution, and looked forward to making it into a Great and Prestigious WINNER for Washington, D.C., and indeed, the United States of America. Unfortunately, Judge Cooper and the Radical Left would rather see it DIE than have President Trump transform it into something that everyone could be proud of, much as I have done, in many cases, throughout my life, and recently, with all of the construction, renovations, and “fix ups” that we have completed with the Department of Interior on Waterfalls, Fountains, Monuments, and other things of Beauty that we have brought back to life in a now SAFE AND SECURE, after Record Setting Crime, Washington, D.C., which is thriving like, perhaps, never before!

TRUMP

The Failing New York Times is doing everything possible to criticize the magnificent restoration of the Reflecting Pool, located between two of America’s most important Landmarks, The Lincoln Memorial, and The Washington Monument. Hundreds of Millions of Dollars have been spent throughout the years trying to fix it, and even from its inception, in 1922, it never really worked! Finally, we have professionals doing the right job for a tiny fraction of the money that has been spent, and The Failing New York Times continues to demean the work of these wonderful, talented, and proud construction professionals that are bringing this over 2,000 foot long pool, the largest in the World, BACK TO LIFE! It is happening before your very eyes, and will soon be completed at a much higher level, and after doing much more work than was originally anticipated.

As an example, in addition to doing the interior Pool, we are restoring the walkway surfaces on each side, fixing the water system, drainage, and so much more — The scope of the Project has been greatly enlarged as we became involved because we realized how important it would be to Washington, D.C., and the record number of visitors coming to our now very safe Capital for all of the upcoming events in celebration of our 250th Anniversary. It is one of the most visited and photographed Pools in the World and, when we took it over, it was a disgusting, garbage strewn dump that leaked, smelled, and was an embarrassment to our Country, and two of our Greatest Presidents. 45,000 Gallons a Day of water was pouring out of its broken seams, so that water would have to run continuously just to keep it at the same level. All of that will soon be fixed for a small fraction of the Hundreds of Millions of Dollars that the Obama and Biden Administrations haplessly wasted, only to have a Pool that was in worse shape after they finished the job.

But that doesn’t stop The Times from continuing its quest to hurt the reputation of those involved. The New York Times, which is doing poorly, should spend more of its energy on fixing its broken “shop,” and celebrating America’s Greatness. Attached are statements made by Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, and others, talking about the true FACTS, and how Great and Beautiful a Project this will soon be as it opens prior to our wonderful 250th Fourth of July Celebration! Just like ripping up the East Wing. I understand they are already digging for the “arch”. Why does it take the court to put a stop, usually temporary, to put a halt on these actions? He always destroys everything before he is called out on it. By then, the damage is done. If only the GOP would rein him in but that is too much to ask of those spineless, useless idiots.

107. Gleeful Nicolle Wallace details Trump's 'humiliating' day in court: 'Hits keep coming'

President Donald Trump has been having a very bad day in court — and MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace barely managed to contain her glee reporting on his losses.

"The legal hits keep coming," said Wallace. "Today, earlier, a federal judge out of Virginia ruled that DOJ's so-called 'Anti-Weaponization Fund' must freeze and that no money can be disbursed until she hears a motion challenging the fund's very existence."

Then, she noted, just hours later, a different federal judge "permanently blocked Trump from adding his name to the Kennedy Center," demanding that any name other than Kennedy be removed from the signage and promotional material within two weeks, and putting the planned two-year renovation on hold as well.

Wallace then turned to her panel, focusing on New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush. "There's the humiliating aspect to these stories for these came up ... there's all of the losing. I mean, what is left in terms of legal acumen in the Department of Justice if they can't win a case?"

Thrush argued that, privately, even a lot of people in the Trump administration were hoping for the "weaponization" slush fund to get killed in court.

"There are people, political appointees in the Justice Department and in the White House who are really, really happy, or would be very happy, if this thing died a quiet judicial death so that they were not forced to defend it" — especially considering Senate Republicans who feel "newly liberated from Donald Trump" are "antithetical" to the plan and had been drafting legislation to stop it.
