HIDE THE KETCHUP! Springsteen's 2-night Concert (June 5 & 6) Celebrating America's 250th Birthday! SAD! RIGGED! WOKE!

https://springsteencenter.org/the-bruce-springsteen-center-for-american-music-announces-two-night-historic-curated-concert-celebrating-americas-250th-birthday/

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (April 14, 2026)—The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music at Monmouth University is proud to announce a multi-act, two-night concert event celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

Called Music America: The Songs that Shaped Us, the concerts will take place on June 4 and 5 at the OceanFirst Bank Center on the Monmouth campus, just prior to the grand opening of the new Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music on June 7. This will be a major contribution to the national commemoration of America’s semiquincentennial and the cornerstone of the Springsteen Center’s grand opening celebrations.

Among the artists scheduled to perform over the two nights are Jon Bon Jovi, Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Kenny Chesney, Gary Clark Jr., Dion, Dropkick Murphys, Shemekia Copeland, Valerie June, Keb’ Mo’, Nils Lofgren, Darlene Love, Public Enemy, David Sancious, Bruce Springsteen, Tony Trischka and Sister Sadie, Mavis Staples, Trombone Shorty and the New Breed Brass Band, Stevie Van Zandt, and Jimmie Vaughan. The Disciples of Soul will serve as the house band.

Each artist will perform landmark songs from American music history. Blues, bluegrass, rock, hip-hop, folk, jazz, country, and gospel are among the genres that will be represented. Narration will precede each performance, giving context to the artist, song, and genre celebrated. Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

Sammy Hagar's a Republican. Alice Cooper is a Republican. NEITHER OF THEM shove their politics down their audience's throats. "Agreeing with their politics" is not a prerequisite for enjoying their music.

Jimmie Vaughan is a conservative?

Good for him.

The minute he climbs on a soapbox and starts singing Trump's praises, I'll stop listening to his music.

Sad that Linda Ronstadt cannot participate, due to a chronic degenerative disease. She too has a history of keeping traditional music alive and introducing the classics to new generations.

I know she has a strong, devoted following. But her "Rhythm And Romance" album...Waddy Watchel (Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards' X-Pensive Winos) and Larry Crane (Mellencamp) on guitars, Benmont Tench from the Heartbreakers, songs by Tom Petty & John Hiatt...it DID reach #1 on Billboard's Country charts, but peaked at #101 on the Billboard 200.

When she sings "You could give up on yourself, but I could not give up on you" in ""Halfway House," it'll break the heart of anyone who has one.

But then trump would immediately try to get the station's license pulled.

Willie Nelson and Indigo Girls would have been good in that list too.

For this and to cast my vote for Rebecca Bennett in NJ-7th (the missing Tom Kean's current district)

BTW, Rebecca has a serious shot. Simon Rosenberg's Hopium Chronicles just started a fund-raising drive for her.

Here's a link to her interview with Simon:

And here's a link to the Hopium donation page.

AND Little Steve and Nils Lofgren get individual slots? Or is Bruce going solo?

Looking at the theme, it looks like Bruce is going solo. Would love to see the playlist. Some good guesses:

A Change is Gonna Come
The City of New Orleans
Joe Hill
Blowin' in the Wind
If I had a Hammer
I'll Take You There
