The new executive producer of the once-renowned CBS News show, Nick Bilton, terminated Pelley after he claimed Pelley refused to find a path forward together on Tuesday, according to a post from Puck News journalist Dylan Byers.
Your antipathy to the future of the show has come through loud and clear, the termination email said in part.
I know how much Scott meant to many of you, and I dont say this lightly. I made repeated attempts to have direct conversations with him over the weekend, and this afternoon I tried to find common ground. That was not the path Scott chose, Bilton said in the message.
What I regret most is that this situation interfered with the conversation I had hoped to have with you about Season 59 and the future of this show. I realize this is a great deal of change in a very short time, and I wouldnt pretend otherwise, he also said.

'He lied to us: CBS News staffers say new owner David Ellison just cant be trusted'
"During his symbolic first stop at the CBS News offices after closing the Paramount-Skydance mega-merger last month, David Ellison the networks new owner said 'all the right things' during his meet-and-greet with staff."
"Barely a month later, whatever goodwill the chief executive had built up had evaporated entirely, with multiple network staffers telling The Independent that Ellison had 'lost the trust' of the newsroom, who now see him as nothing but a 'liar' as he takes steps to appease the right and President Donald Trump."
"According to sources, Ellisons lack of credibility with the 'Tiffany Network' news staff comes down to the 'broken promises' he delivered following a politically-strained merger process that saw Paramounts former leadership agree to pay Trump $16 million to settle a 'meritless' lawsuit over a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris."

(11,298 posts)..is a mere hang nail on the fist of control over America's media platforms. Controlling government requires controlling the message. Sure seems to be working.
