General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWell, I have news. Happy plus sad. And they involve similar objects.
Today, I bought a new (to me) Audi. This is something I hadn't anticipated needing, but my actions 2 weeks ago made it a necessity.
OK, stop talking in riddles! 2 weeks ago I was involved in a terrible tangle of cars. 3 cars. My Audi, which I loved ferociously, was totaled. It broke my heart, it filled me with guilt and anger at myself.
I rented a Nissan and tried to carry on like normal. It wasn't easy. I really wanted another Audi, so we went to Audi's spring sale.
We found one we liked, that was very similar to my old one, and today we bought it. A used Audi. I think it has 50K miles on it. And of course, it's electric!
I am feeling much better today. Maybe you'll see me the way I was last year: cheerful, combative and like that. Time will tell. There will be photos in a day or two.
The car's official name is 2023 e-tron Premium Plus quattro. If anyone can interpret this phrase, please speak up.
Thanks for reading!

(28,787 posts)is a mouthful for a name
if it was mine , Id just call her Suzi
But otherwise , the official designation is :
A 2023 Audi e-tron Premium Plus quattro is the model, trim level, and drivetrain configuration of an all-electric luxury SUV.
2023: The model year of the vehicle.
e-tron: The name of Audis fully electric vehicle line.
Premium Plus: The mid-tier trim level. It adds upgraded luxury, technology, and convenience features over the base "Premium" model, such as a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a surround-view camera.
quattro: Audi's signature all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. In the e-tron, this means the vehicle uses multiple electric motors to independently power both the front and rear wheels, providing better traction and handling in various weather conditions.
Happy trails

(38,163 posts)Bought a new Honda C-Rv.
Worked for the Big 3 for 30 years and always bought my companys cars.
After reading the reviews, I settled on the Honda. One look under the hood sold me. I could look down on the motor and still see the ground. Cant do that on my companys cars. There is room to get to any part that needs attention. On American cars it can now cost a fortune to change a light bulb. You have to drop the bumper to remove 10 other parts to get to a light bulb .
Should be the last car Ill buy at my age.
Its gas, but I no longer drive that much anymore.
Got my wife a Prius a few years ago and its been great. She now drives a lot more than I do. She will save a lot on gas. But its a little too small for me to get into.
With my fading memory, Im hooked on the navigation system.
Just sunk a lot of money into a whole new brake system for my 26 year old van. Dont use it that much, but I can still haul large items and go camping in it. Had a new certified used motor installed a couple of years ago, tranny gone through and new tires on it. Should last a long time, plus be there when I need it.
Good part about the Honda is it was assembled in Windsor Canada and 90 percent of the parts are made in the USA. More than the parts for American cars have.

(10,191 posts)this surely be a must, the car has a lot of features and some are not quite that obvious
CaliforniaPeggy
(157,099 posts)I know there are features that I will never use or even recognize! I will poke around the electronic controls and see what's what. Eventually I will be pretty comfortable with all that stuff.
