They are mad about something specific and local - which a) fits Republicans (it only matters if I get hurt) and b) neither supports nor fails to support a larger turning against the party.
I can't tell what they've asked Jack about but it sounds like it is something local the federal government did, could stop, or otherwise is connected to.
