Will the GOP be able to run out the clock on Beshear

Whether you believe the photos are real or fake is kind of beyond the point now

This is a blatant attempt to run out the clock to prevent Gov Beshear from naming a replacement.

So unless Mitch can prove he's alive and could reasonably demonstrate a possible return to the Senate - Governor Beshear should name a replacement and call their bluff.

Andy Beshear knows the law.

McConnell’s team released this “photo” and a written statement from “Mitch”, but no one has seen him or heard from him STILL for months!

They started a lie and because Andy Beshear demanded proof of life, they had to go harder! THIS IS STILL A LIE!!! THEY HAVE TO KEEP HIM “ALIVE” UNTIL AUGUST 4!

ALERT: Gov. Andy Beshear (D-KY) asks Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to provide a health update to him and to all Kentuckians

well, since Mitch isn't in the hospital, but is in a rehab facility, it would be an odd move by Beshear onenote 16 hrs ago #3

Beshear isn't going to publicly question whether McConnell is alive now that he's put out a statement, no matter how many internet "sleuths" claim the photo is fake.

There is no credible evidence that McConnell is dead. There is evidence, both in terms of the photo and in terms of statements by others who said they spoke to McConnell, that he's alive. The burden of proof here is on Beshear, not McConnell.

But he isn't able to return to Senate. Which appears to be the best outcome we can have right now.

and that he is the kind of Democrat that we need to capture new voters. Let us see how he deals with this matter of importance to the future of the Nation, vis a vis party control of the Senate.

My guess, they run the clock out on him, but he does it "Moderately" while defending the "rule of law". And those inclined to the moderate touch -- including Carville, the Bulwark crew, and most of the assorted talking heads -- will not even notice another cave.

Hope I'm wrong, but hard to bet against an establishment Dem not making a really outside the box strategic move.

Just cause a Senator goes into the hospital, doesn't mean the governor should try to replace him automatically. Also, you really Thune will actually seat a Beshear pick? Stop this establishment Dem crap.

People are so damned desperate for the party to do something, anything, that can convince them there is fight in our leadership that they end up going out and voting for a Platner candidacy that was clearly doomed from the git go, cause they are so angry at the status quo.

So I don't care if Thune won't seat a Beshear choice, I want him to cause a ruckus and play hardball like the fascists do.

this thing that he simply just had a fall and no other issues after spending about a month in the hospital and this would be the first "proof of life" is absolute horseshit.

wasn't serving her constituents in her sad state of dementia should be shouting to the skies that this is the same situation. No, he is in shitty shape, and the GOP should justify why they continue to keep him in office. Make them sweat. Make the assholes who made fun of Fetterman -- that's another matter -- after his stroke defend having a husk of a man represent Kentucky from a supposed rehab center.
