Lindsey Graham was urged to seek immediate medical attention but brushed off the advice with a chilling joke in the moments before his death, according to a report.
The South Carolina senator died Saturday night after what his office called a "brief and sudden illness," two days after his 71st birthday and just hours after returning from a visit to Ukraine.
Emergency personnel responded to a report of cardiac arrest at Graham's Capitol Hill home at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening, according to police scanner audio obtained by NBC News.
President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he had spoken with Graham at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and that the senator had said that he was "tired" from his trip. The two discussed Graham's Russia sanctions bill and Trump's plans for fresh strikes against Iran, according to Axios.

Too late now.

(60,287 posts)Why does he even bother wasting his time with these liberal, radical "physicians" and their communist "medical advice" that Barack Hussein Obama and Sleepy Joe bought into?
Hell, he's got RFK standing there with a pile of blow on a toilet seat, what more does he need....

(23,629 posts)About nine years ago, I was having persistent chest pains. Hauled my ass to the hospital ER, and they checked me in. Two days later, triple-bypass heart surgery.
I'm still here to tell the tale. If I had ignored my symptoms, I would not be.

Put plainly, it is almost certainly bullshit. The question is why Ravid was fed this story.

It sounds like he did ignore his symptoms and if he were smarter about it, he may have been able to get checked in in time.

(115,493 posts)he, the rightful recipient of the nation's best healthcare at OUR expense--something the rest of us can only dream of, apparently had no ongoing health exams or follow-up (no, I don't have inside knowledge, but I am inferring from what info is available). If he had atherosclerosis that severe I cannot imagine not having worked him up fully and appropriately performed all the procedures necessary to help to prevent what happened. Yes, an aortic dissection can not always be prevented, but severe blockages, hypertension, etc. certainly can.
Maybe more info will come out to suggest he was being treated--if only belatedly, but I seriously have doubts.

(2,391 posts)You can't actually force someone to go to the doctor. And it doesn't even require a silly conspiracy theory like you're hinting at.

(115,493 posts)That YOU are discussing. Stop damn trying to smear me with every post you make in response to my posts. This habit is beyond unacceptable but it clearly is a pattern now.

(35,275 posts)He just had too many factors going against him.
We don't know how bad his atherosclerosis was. My husband had stents put in in 2024 and in 2026, he was back in the hospital again. So, we don't have magic that can get rid of it.
Who knows what procedures Graham had done? Also, we don't know what meds his was on etc...
His appearance changed recently. Puffy eyes, pasty face. I wondered if he also had CHF or something similar.

(795 posts)Came shortly before his death and after symptoms began. Given that it was a directed aorta, he'd almost certainly have died if he'd called 911 that second.
