Here's what's going to happen tonight: the world's most famous sore loser will deliver a prime-time presidential sour grapes address to pursue his 6-year old grievances about the 2020 election, while his war in the Middle East spirals out of control and the cost of living continues to rise."No need to tune in folks. Jon is right.

(4,220 posts)then they should lose their licenses for the network owned stations. unlike jimmy kimmel they are letting a known liar continue to lie on their stations. that not part of acting in the public interest

It would be better to a) let the public's conscience be shocked for a while, b) let the speech stand alone, then c) use it for midterm campaigns.

(26,286 posts)give Jon equal time! But it looks like they're not gonna show it. If they hold firm, we have major trump tantrums incoming.

(60,972 posts)Mark Kelly is up for re-election in 2028. I don't know if Arizona law allows him to run for both Senator and President at the same time. There are several others who might run as well. Jon is not even 40 yet. He has time, and I think he is making brilliant use of his time right now. I was talking to one of his colleagues on the phone this morning who is downright certain of Jon's re-election. I'm not quite THERE yet, but I do think it has never looked better for him. The media love him (for now, anyway), and he plays them like a fiddle. Actually, a Kelly-Ossoff ticket in 2028 would be a perfect formula for a 16 year Democratic White House run. But I am not a gambling man, and if I were, at this point, I wouldn't give that a 2% chance of becoming reality. No one has THAT much good fortune!

(38,992 posts)...Senatorial candidate, a back country lawyer, by profession, with a certain gift for rhetoric had in 1860.
In 1860, the United States was run by what historians have generally regarded as the worst President ever, at least until the record was smashed to smithereens by an orange pedophile, and was about to disintegrate, which in fact it did. The issue was then, as it is now, racism and an insane Supreme Court.
It seemed improbable that the 51 year old country lawyer would go anywhere, but somehow he did. The rest is, as they say, is history.
It was highly improbable that the United States would fall from the heights it achieved by agency of a small minded intellectually weak, corrupt, and uneducated pedophile, and perhaps it is improbable that it can be restored by a bright young man, but given the improbability of everything we now observe, hope remains, if not for everyone, certainly for me.

Why is Chump getting the free airtime? Because he's demanding it and the major networks are too chickenshit to tell him "no!"
But they said "no" to President Joe Biden, and I believe they also refused PBO at least once, so they do understand how to use the word. I think the American viewers need to click off their TV sets as soon as Chump comes on, and make it clear to the networks that we'll have NONE OF THIS!
Once they get the message, maybe they'll tell Chump "no" a little easier next time. So turn your TV off by about 9:05 P.M. or whenever Chump starts speaking.
EDIT TO ADD: I see that both NBC and ABC have announced they won't cover this live, so it's only CBS, FOX and (I'm guessing) CNN and other cable news sources.
I will have CBS on my TV at 9 p.m. and I'll click them off as soon as Chump comes on the screen.

(1,336 posts)I think this speech is going to help us solidify the truth in the public's minds that shitstain is a demented, psychotic, senile mental patient. Only his most obnoxious supporters, a dwindling minority anyway, will cheer for this. So, let the psycho dribble his tired lies for the 9000th time. Our response will BURY HIM (get it, Jon!)
