A quick word about a couple of DU updates

Hello everyone,

We've just opened two new top-level forums, as discussed previously on a number of occasions. The new forums are:

Latest Trump BS

If you are considering posting a new thread about something outrageous that Trump just said to distract people on the Internet (as opposed to something outrageous that his administration just did in the real world), consider using this forum.

These forums don't have a lot of new threads yet since they've only just been opened, but they are available to be posted in right now.

In addition, we have made an adjustment to our Jury Service pages. Now, when serving on a DU Jury, you will see the forum which the alerted post is in, displayed at the top of the page. This additional piece of information provides additional context which Jurors might find useful when serving.

Both new forums will be used. I hope "The Way Forward" will be used more instead of the onslaught of venomous bs on the felon. We all know that (BS) forum will be used constantly. But we need to watch out for our mental health.

More than once I personally have had posts removed because the post itself, out of context of the discussion, seemed to be a removable offense, but when taken in context of the thread and the post they were made in reply to, were obviously not meant to offend.

41. Regarding updates how about one about what actually qualifies as actual news of national importance.

Such as major disasters in the US only and then limited to mostly national news like federal cases regarding major laws that impact the nation itself and natural disasters in the US.
Otherwise it's limited to major federal and state issues.
No more things about AI or issues that don't impact the US in a truly major way.

Regarding jury service: I apologize if the answer seems obvious, but it's not to me. Could you please clarify how we can judge if someone posted something in good faith or just to disrupt? I have actually backed out of jury duty after carefully considering whether or not the post in question broke the rule because I didn't feel I could know what the intentions of the poster were.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

But REALLY loving knowing what forum a jury is called for. I have backed out in the past because I wasn't sure if the post reported could be a misunderstanding in a forum/group with specific norms as opposed to a rule breaker like would be more clear in General Discussion.
