At least 2 dead, 22 injured in fireworks-related incident in Salt Lake

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - First responders are at the scene of what police call a fireworks-related incident in the Salt Lake-Aliamanu area Wednesday.

At least two people are dead and 22 people are injured, according to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services.

The incident occurred on Keaka Drive. ... Several emergency vehicles are also gathered along Salt Lake Boulevard.

Police, fire, and emergency medical crews are all at the scene providing care and security, police said in a statement. ... Officials are urging the public to avoid the area.

When I lived there, I remember lots of people coming into the E.R. with asthma attacks the day after, because of the smoke hanging in the air.

4. Deaths are up to 4 now. Every year there is some death or injury here due to these idiots.

Maybe this will finally make people stop. We had fireworks continuously from 7pm to 1am. It was nuts. And it’s not just New Years—fireworks all year, randomly for god knows what.
