Prosecutors urge Supreme Court not to block Trump's hush money sentencing

Source: Axios

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Thursday urged the U.S. Supreme Court to deny President-elect Trump's latest bid to halt his sentencing in his New York hush money case.

...

The big picture: The "defendant makes the unprecedented claim that the temporary presidential immunity he will possess in the future fully immunizes him now, weeks before he even takes the oath of office," Bragg wrote of Trump's stay request.

Bragg dismissed the argument, noting that presidential immunity only applies to the time a president is serving their term in office.

In regards to Trump's claims that the trial had included "erroneous admission of official-acts evidence at trial," Bragg argued that Trump could appeal these aspects once sentenced in due course, but that there is "no basis" for asking the Supreme Court to intervene before a final judgement had been handed down.

Okay, the one above, I pasted it in and it works.

If DU's formatting posts the link with the last slash being forward instead of backward -- the last one should be backward, i.e., it starts at the top left but gets lower as it goes to the right --, try manually changing that last slash. Thanks for noting the problem.

So, change the last slash manually, please, tell me if it works. Thanks for your patience.

You may have to take the link, put it in some neutral thing like a text file, change the last slash (the one before 24a666 ... and look at that 666! Aaaagh!) to backward instead of forward, and put the corrected link into your browser. Sorry.

I think only the last slash, before the 24a, should be backward (strange, huh?), all other should be forward. Thanks for all the work.

You have to use the double "\" for the "\" to appear in the link. But you'll have to copy everything after the \ to make it work.

just enter: 24a666 in the search box and it should take you to the entire docket. I'm not sure why the links provided are not working for some of us, but you can still get to all the documents.
